Went browsing this week to look for a used glock 19 for canceled carry; I'm carrying a model 49 for now. I ran across a 6906 w/round trigger guard and Novak sights for 380. Now I've heard of these pistols before but never handled one before; purchased to try something different. Shot it today and all I can say is wow... I'm hooked. This thing is fairly light, the DAO trigger pull is long - but smooth like the revolvers I'm use to firing. I was able to punch paper plates to distances up to 25 meters. Up close it was a ragged hole. Once against a fine piece of machinery.

I have two of them: an older one with hooked trigger guard, and a newer VA Beach Police trade-in. Both are fantastic shooters and carry very nicely. I run a front tritium sight on one, and have added friction tape to the front strap. It's perfect.

I ditched my glock 26 and only carry a 3913 ( more or less a single stack 6906). I never looked back or missed the glock.

Does S&W still make these pistols?

I understand that they will fill large LE orders, but there are lots of good condition LE trade ins around.

I bought a 6906 tradein from CDNN a few weeks ago and was very impressed by the price and condition. I couldn't tell that the gun had been fired (or cleaned <G>) very much. Had a bit of holster wear, but no scratches.

I've had mine since it was new ( square trigger ). I salivate looking at some of the newer plastic guns. A couple years ago, I went to my local GS and asked him what I could get on a trade. He told me " you don't want to do that ". I didn't, and I'm so glad. :)

Congrats on finding a very cool gun, I love mine!

Another CDNN 6906 here, and in excellent condition. Only been out with it once, but a great shooter. Next trip out is to test some reloading in it.

S&W 3rd gens are great pistols. All of the ones I've found have been accurate and reliable. Just be warned, these guns are addictive. Enjoy your new pistol.

You just can't beat the 3rd gens. Love my 6906. It will be in the bag when I go shooting today:cool:

I'll soon be joining the club with a 6904(blued version). Does anyone know where I can get factory magazines for it? I remember seeing brand new factory mags all the time on gun auction sites but haven't seen any lately. Anybody got a source?

What hosters are go to get for the 6906? IWB or owb? I just picked up one and need to get a hoster for it . Any help would be great. Thanks Rich

Find any holster for the Sig 228. Espexially leather. They will work really well for the 6906. I have a couple of Galco Glock 19 rigs that fit the 6906 beautifully also.

Congrats, the 3rd Gens are awesome pistols. I have a 6690, which is the transition model between the 669 and the 6906. Take it to a range where you can stretch the distance out, you'll be amazed how far these will shoot accurately. Enjoy! :D

As for holsters, I carry mine in a Black Hawk IWB for Glock 19 and a old but trusted Bianchi X-15 shoulder rig.

Just got a 6906 last night from my ffl, traded for it from a fellow member, its in great condition, came with one 12 round mag and a 14 round mag, I have not got it to the range yet, hopefully this weekend I can get it out.

You're gonna be one happy camper. Congrats. :)

In my opinion, it is silly to put your pistol in a holster made for something else. Plenty of makers are able to accommodate a request for the 6904/6.
