school shooting solution

Local schools have been posting pics on social media of
the "NEW THIS YEAR STAFF",,

Included is typically an armed uniformed officer,,

Without fail, every one of the armed individuals is in the 300 pound+ category,,,,,

WOW!!

99% of the remaining staff are females,, and 90%+ are "HEAVY",,

I guess it is the new world,,,

Looks like the FBI checked him out last year. Not enough to get an arrest. Whoops.

From what I have read, the FBI was notified but turned the investigation over to the local authorities.

The Jackson County, Georgia Sheriffs' did a F2F with the kid and his father and investigated the Discord account, a social media platform that caused the alert, but they did not find enough to charge anybody.

The father said his two hunting rifles were "locked away" and "[Colt] does not have unfettered access to them."

The news report I read seemed to indicated that the local investigator did a pretty thorough investigation with both the F2F and Internet search. However, if dad was not as diligent as he indicated, he needs to be in the cell next to his son.

There are lots of veterans in any given school area who would volunteer 2-3-4 days a week for security. Yet they're blown off by both the po-po & bureaucrats. Stupid, IMO.

Should be a law against publishing the names of these cowardly shooters, IMO.

Seems like in the aftermath of every shooting we hear "The shooter was checked out earlier as suspicious, but nothing came of it." How many times have we heard this and nothing was done, and they turned out to be right about them after all? :(

You have to have a crime before an arrest. That means proving the body of the crime, or corpus delicti. It's been true in English and American law since the 17th century. There are six key elements that make up the corpus delicti:

Actus reus - The guilty act. This refers to the criminal action that comprises the physical components of the crime.

Mens rea - The guilty mind. This refers to the mental state and intent of the person accused of committing the crime.

Concurrence - The actus reus and mens rea must occur simultaneously for a crime to have been committed.

Causation - The defendant's conduct must have caused the prohibited consequence to occur.

Harm - The act must have resulted in injury or harm to a legally protected interest.

Punishment - The act must be punishable under criminal statute.

So in summary, for a prosecutor to secure a conviction, they must first prove these six elements existed in the commission of the alleged crime before evidence of the defendant's guilt can be presented.

That is only one problem. A few years back an "old boy" had some kind of episode, drove right to the back of my campus until he was blocked by structures. I tried to help him but he cussed me out, threatened to shoot me. I put "hands on", got his keys, yelled for the small crowd to "Call SRO1!" 40 minutes later a "road deputy" responded. I just walked away at that point. The incident was never mentioned officially or unofficially again. Glad to be out 3+ years. Joe

Want to stop school shooting? Take all the security around Federal, state and local government building and put it around schools. Should take about a week. See how long it takes for government officials to approve new security for themselves.

Who is paying for this?

yeah .... no ....
You really want to solve this?
Close the schools.
for as hard as we have fought to give faculty the right to be armed, they themselves have fought harder to remain victims.
For as many tax hikes as we endure for education, the lower the quality they produce.
Pull the plug on these institutions and the whole freak show ends.

Most of these killers enter the school after it has started/ Once school is started in order for anyone to enter they should have to enter a set of doors that lock behind them, then have to be videoed before a second set of doors are opened. That plus metal detectors.

Another thing I believe is to get rid of the notoriety part of the equation. You commit certain crimes, your name and birth disappears and it becomes illegal to mention it in print, or any form of media. The person is then tracked in the system by a random number that changes yearly until they die.

Warren Buffet once had a very similar plan for the federal deficit: ""You just pass a law that says that any time there's a deficit of more than three percent of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election."

Let's not kid ourselves. School shootings, mass shootings, gun violence and the lot are very complex problems that will eventually require multi-faceted solutions. In addition, coercing political leaders into making uninformed decisions is a recipe for a solution none of us will like.

As for hammering school resource officers, there is more than enough responsibility for gun violence prevention to go around - police, politicians, parents and relatives, school officials, society in general, etc. Take your pick but realize that there is no single source nor single solution. As my dad used to say: "Difficult, complex problems have simple, easy-to-understand wrong answers."

Home school ....
The average home schooled individual has far fewer issues than the product of public schools in my experience.
Close the schools

So you are saying that if we want to reduce or eliminate school shootings we should just close the schools???

Don't forget that there are also kids who are kept out of schools and receive little or no practical education due to the parents' beliefs or misconceptions about what they need to be taught. Just how high will that number go if/when we close the schools...???
