I was scoping out other forums lately and cannot believe the anti-Sigma B.S. on these forums. I am considering purchasing a Ruger LCP, so I slide over to their forum to see if there are any inherent problems with the pistol. There is a thread posted by some unfortunates who purchased Sigmas with tall tales of guns literally falling apart out of the box. Come on, man. Check out the Glock forums for more horror stories about the Sigma. We Sigma owners know this to be nonsense. Do you think it makes someone who purchased a Glock at $250 more than a Sigma to feel better about themselves for their purchase price to post such nonsense? This S&W forum rarely gets into Glock bashing, you know, the gun that sometimes blows up, because Glock makes a fine firearm.I've owned one. Do we see people boasting about the 2 big Ruger recalls in recent months? I'm looking into the purchase of an LCP. Happy owner of a Sigma 9F and 40VE signing off. Excuse me now while I scotch tape my 9F back together and try to recover all the gun parts from my most recent 40VE explosion.

Some people need to validate their choice of product among a number of good alternatives. And it's not limited to firearms. For example, go to any Japanese car fan-boy forum and you'll see plenty of "ZOMGzors Volkswagen aer Teh SUKZORS" and other incoherent crap designed to make them feel better about themselves. Glock fans feel the same way about the Sigma and M&P, and Walther snobs likewise about the SW99.

I hear you guys. That's what most owners of medium to high end gun owners fear the most. They can't believe that there is a gun out there that does the same job for half the price. My sigma in 40 cal feels and shoots just fine, I bought it for $225.00 with two ("steel" not plasic) mags six months ago,the same gunshop now sells them for $395.00 and can't keep'em stocked, go figure!!!

My sigma 9ve is the original point and click interface. It just feels natural in your hand like it should be there all the time....gg

I had a friend who had a Glock "KB" on him yes that's "KA-BOOM" for the people who don't know.

On the flip side I did own a "Block" before and it worked just fine. I would never buy another one though they just dont fit my hand right.

My Sigma on the other hand is just a joy to shoot and it's never failed me yet.

Around here Glock owners are like the fat sissy boys who drive BMWs. They just think that because they own it, it has to be the best. Someone told them so.

I completely agree. I've never understood why some people don't feel that Sigma's and Glock's can peacefully coexist. My Dad and Brother are both Glock fans, but both of them like my Sigma's as well. They both realize that, just because they chose Glock's, that doesn't make every other brand of handgun a piece of junk. Likewise, I find their Glock's to be quite reliable. I just don't find they fit my hand as well as the Sigma and don't believe they are worth the extra $150 - $200 they cost. That said, I would feel perfectly fine carrying their Glock handguns for personal protection as they have been very reliable.

I am considering purchasing a Ruger LCP,

My wife has an LCP and it is great little gun, but I don't like the trigger and she is learning to live with it. I have a 642 with a CT laser and I much prefer the way it shoots over the LCP.

I had a Sigma for almost 4 years before I got a M&P 9 Compact. The Sigma was a great gun, except for its trigger. I never had one FTF or FTE during the time I owned it. I traded it for the M&P, which I really like. Just my $0.02.......

FWIW, there really were some issues with the first gen Sigmas. They clearly got them fixed with the revision in '97.

I'm not just sure what you're referring to as "Around here..." but this is one Glock owner who doesn't have to be told anything about the Glock because I've found out for myself that they are as good, if not better, than anything else on the Market today. And, you can take your "Opinion" and stuff it where the Sun Don't Shine if you can find room with your head already there!!! I don't believe I've ever read any of your other Posts here but I've very sure that this is the LAST one I ever will!!!

This kind of bashing is just unnecessary. Glock makes a fine gun that has had its occasional problems.

S&W makes fine guns that have had their occasional problems.

The bottom line is that I, for one, would trust my life with a Glock or a Smith & Wesson, and I do not feel the need to make ignoramus comments to those who choose the Glock.

I hear that often as well. The F series. As the owner of a very well used 9F ($150 with two 17 round mags), my first of 3 Sigmas, I've found it to be very reliable and a better FCG than the 9VE I bought new and sold for nearly what I paid for it new. The 9F is a fine gun, the 40F had fracture issues. The 9VE is a great pistol for the money, the 9F as well as one can be had cheaply.

I have owned a few Sigmas, never had one fail on me but I just don't care for polymer frames. That said, a local guy didn't care for the grey color of his Sigma frame and dyed it black using Ritz clothing dye. It worked, you can't scratch it off. It colored evenly throughout as well, and no color seems to be wearing off the frame rails.

If any of you Sigma owners choose to go this route, I would like to see a tye-dye version.

I think by around here he meant in his area of residence, not the board.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I kinda thought he meant it as humor. Surely no one could really think that about Glock owners-I mean, it's not like they are Walther P88s. That's one gun that might qualify as the Corvette of pistols, if any would. And I'm not putting down 'vette owners in general, but we've all encountered the type, right?
Anyways, I just got an SW99, I'm trying to re-acquire a Sigma I foolishly let go to a friend, and I've got 4 Glock .40 mags I'm holding on to as I look for a pistol to use 'em with, so no snob, I.

I worked in gunshops from 1988 until 1996. The first Glocks I saw were strange to me, and to most others, not being accustomed to a polymer framed handgun. They were very hard to sell at first, but it only took a few months for them to really take off. I think it was not only the high quality of the gun, but also the marketing. We had counter mats, posters, decals, hats, patches, key chains, etc. They had a good product and knew how to market it. I don't remember ever having one come back with a problem. But during that same time, I sold a lot of Gen 2 and 3 Smiths and never had a problem with any of them either. I owned a Glock 17, it didn't fit my hand. The guy I sold it to loved it. I had a 4003 shortly after that, which I loved. I have an M&P 40 now that I like better than both of them. It is all personal preference. In these trying times that all gun owners must endure, why do some people find the need to fight among themselves? As long as pieces of Sigma aren't flying over in their lane, why should Glock guys care what you shoot, and visa versa? Until somebody else starts paying for my firearms, I'll shoot what I want.

Whatever he meant or wherever he was talking about, his attitude sucks and I for one don't mind telling him so!
