snow tonight?

Got up Thursday to 4 inches of new, wet, sticky stuff. Figures, I took 300 pounds of sand out of my truck last weekend. At least we missed the big dump that fell east and south of here. Same storm is supposed to blow back over us from the East today.

That big dump is me...after two 70 degree days we got 18"
of heavy wet stuff, and even I (a noted fan of winter) am darned sick of it. In all the years I have lived here, we have gotten occasional freak storms, but this is the first year the ice is not off the lakes yet for fishing opener this weekend.

We had snow here on Tues. and Wed., amounted to about 10" and the roads were all closed, as usual. Thing is, we're not done yet. We ALWAYS get at least some snow in May and, more often than not, another foot or so in June. Winter can be a long time dyin' here!

We got 15 inches in Cheyenne Tues and Wed. Million dollar storm. We desperately need the moisture. One the nastiest little blizzards I ever saw happened on Mother's Day.

I ain't puttin' the snow shovel away just yet.

Not just fishing opener. This is often the time the morels start to appear. Not this year, I think.
