I had a pretty good one, for me the season starts on December 6-St. Nicholas Day, or Dutch Christmas as I heard it called in my youth. An Advent Dinner in church, next week a community tree lighting, time with friends. On Christmas Day as I have done for 30 years I participated in the reenactment of Washington's Crossing of the Delaware, I do an Advance Party, there to rec eive the boats when they land. Somewhat dramatic crossing this year, we have been in a drought, at the dress rehearsals the river was too low, then they opened a dam upstream, the current was a little too fast, the crews had a bit of a struggle but they made it across. Night Morris-they did have fireworks, heard they were cancelled due to the drought. Yesterday a Feast of the Three Kings event at a local arts center, flamenco dancers.
We have had only 2 dustings of snow here in Central NJ. I am working on my strategy. Years ago I read in one of my. mother's women's magazine that "Giving your kid a sled for Christmas will sweep every snowflake from the sky for the next 6 weeks." So I buy old sleds, fix them up, hand them out.....
