I had a pretty good one, for me the season starts on December 6-St. Nicholas Day, or Dutch Christmas as I heard it called in my youth. An Advent Dinner in church, next week a community tree lighting, time with friends. On Christmas Day as I have done for 30 years I participated in the reenactment of Washington's Crossing of the Delaware, I do an Advance Party, there to rec eive the boats when they land. Somewhat dramatic crossing this year, we have been in a drought, at the dress rehearsals the river was too low, then they opened a dam upstream, the current was a little too fast, the crews had a bit of a struggle but they made it across. The Saturday after Christmas the Battle of Trenton reenactment, New Year's Eve to Morristown, NJ for First
Night Morris-they did have fireworks, heard they were cancelled due to the drought. Yesterday a Feast of the Three Kings event at a local arts center, flamenco dancers.
We have had only 2 dustings of snow here in Central NJ. I am working on my strategy. Years ago I read in one of my. mother's women's magazine that "Giving your kid a sled for Christmas will sweep every snowflake from the sky for the next 6 weeks." So I buy old sleds, fix them up, hand them out.....

Our holiday season was shattered by a murder on my wife’s side of the family; and the arrest of the victim’s older brother for the crime. Today is the defendant’s fifty-fifth birthday. The entire family is dumbfounded and hurt by the killing.

I hope everyone else’s holidays were better.

Pleasant. I made a standing rib roast along with mashed potatoes ,sis brought the veggies and dessert,jr and his missus joined us along with grams and I gave all the women folks new sox ;-)

Excellent. I stayed with some friends I hadn't seen in over 4 years that live 90 miles away. Got there Christmas Eve and left Christmas afternoon, came back home to take care of Goose, my cat, and went back on Saturday as some other friends I hadn't seen in 6-7 years were coming to visit them. Had good food, good drink, good friends and a very good time. The fact that it was the first time in 5 years I had spent the night away from home made it even more special. It was the first time in 40 years I hadn't celebrated Christmas here at home. The only part that sucked was the driving, where it seemed everyone was trying to run into me.

Ours was great. My tiny boss Ernie was only two months old last year - this year he had it figured out that he was not only allowed but required to rip off paper and find toys and goodies underneath. Next year will really be a hoot.

Mine was calm. Hosted 3 small get togethers. Great food and treats and some wonderful adult beverages. My favorite season.

Mine was great! I got to spend some time with the folks I love. Had great Xmas food!

My only issue, I was bummed, no home made holiday fudge. It's OK though, the next time I have it, it'll taste even better! Delayed gratification is the BEST! At least that's what I tell myself...

My son and his GF gave us a big box of home made goodies including two types of fudge. I hate fudge, but the wife loves it, so it didn't go to waste. We already polished off the rest - peanut brittle, chocolate covered toffee, and peanut butter cups. All yummy. I made one of my semi famous bourbon pecan pies. It was a hit as well.

Excellent! My three sons, the two older boys' wives and kids, all gathered at our place for Christmas. Main event was dinner, and main course was 10 lbs of well marbled Japanese top round, cooked on my Weber kettle.

Adding a sear (AKA reverse sear):

Two hunks resting:

Slicing up for dinner:

Plenty of leftovers for Philly Cheesesteak Sammiches for lunch the day after, and for the wives to take home.

Two days later, having coordinated with the ladies well in advance, my sons (45,39 and 31) and I went out to dinner, just the four of us, followed by a bar. I'd been wanting to do that — go out just my sons and me — for a very long time, and finally pulled it off.

It was great!

Typical Christmas for a old guy who lives alone.
Stay at home, watch TV, morning coffee and O.J.
Lunch: buttered toast and jam.
Dinner: tomatoe soap and a cheese sanwich.
Tv until bedtime.
wondered if this is my last Christmas.
