This is why I only swim in pools...

My son was on the home island (Kefalonia), and he went for a swim. He was about a mile out when he asked himself, "Are there any sharks in the Mediterranean?"

He swam back and asked.

More than 30 varieties, he was told.

He decided to skip the mile swims in the future.

Yep, and they include the great white. I think one might have been the great fish that swallowed the Biblical Jonah. A whale might have digested him sooner. Sharks take awhile for that.

But how did he breath? I guess that might be attributed to a miracle.

If you are planning on eating shark, it has to be fileted and brined ASAP to get the urea out of it.

Having eated shark only once, I remember it as picking up the flavor of the marinade.

Yes, it was tasty. I'd eat it again.
