Trigger Fix Update

Sorry, I know i could of searched but I knew it would come up 1000 times and I wouldnt get the answer I wanted.

I have decided I cant stand the trigger anymore on my sigma. I shoot it great but I know I can get more accuracy out of it if the trigger pull is lighter.

SSSOOOOO, is there a finalized and SAFE trigger fix? for the sigma? I'd like something around 4lbs.

There is nothing wrong with the Sigma trigger. It is what it is. It is your trigger finger that needs the work. Strengthen your finger, practice trigger control or buy a different firearm with a softer trigger that you like.

If you want to do the trigger job there are pleanty of lings on this site. I have posted them, JRich has posted, RugerNUT etc.. Don't add any more parts to you gun, just take away. Whe you do the trigger job be sure you put the pin that connects the sear to the trigger bar in correctly or when you rack the slide it will fall out. You also don't need to go out and buy a dremel tool for polishing, just get some "Mr. Metal" metal polish or any other metal polish you get at CVS or SafeWay etc for $2. it works too. Don't cut any spring. Remove the Pigtail spring and the short outer spring and nothing else. You will know what that means after you see the video.

I am generally the 'it is what it is' frame of mind. I bought my Sigma knowing exactly what it would feel like. That said, I did polish everything related to the trigger not long after I put its first rounds down range. It made it smoother and feel better. I'd do it again (buy a Sigma and polish) but that's just me.

You'll get a better, smoother trigger, but a sigma trigger will never get to 4 pounds.
But getting it smoother and maybe drop a couple pounds (to maybe 7-8) will make the sigma shoot much better.....

4lb trigger

like others have said you won't get 4lbs. 4lbs isn't good for a carry piece maybe comp but not carry. You can get 4lb with extensive modding and wouldn't tell you how to do it for a carry piece. If you are using this for comp you should already know how to do this.

I got mine to 3.5 lbs. and it works great. You have to know how to harden and soften metal though.
The Sigma is an inexpensive gun. You can practice your smithing w/o worrying to much about loosing alot of cash. When you mod a sigma, don't cut or alter any of the parts. keep all the parts you take off. If something goes wrong with the gun put it all back together like how you bought it and send it in for service. This way the warraty is still good. Don't put a Wolff spring in and try to send it in for repairs. Striker spring is hard to replace and some of the plasic can break if you don't know what you are doing.

Vector why are you quoting me? Because you carry a 3.5lb trigger? I just wouldn't carry a 3.5lb trigger with one in the chamber.

I don't carry a gun. Its impossible to get a CCW in CA. I carry throwing knives. i'm damn good up to about 15 yards with'm. I carry when I go hunting. mWhy wouln't you carry with a 3.5lb trigger w/ one in the pipe. the trigger pull is long enough, on yours.

I knew you didn't carry, just forgot. 3.5lb trigger just makes me nervous with one chambered. I know the pull is long, but still not for me, thanks.

With a lot of polishing, grease and the removal of the inner spring and pigtail spring I was able to get my SW9E's trigger pull to something in the 5lb range. It is very smooth and the break is still a little mushy, but it's not bad at all. I have a few thousands rounds through it in this configuration with zero reliability issues. However I will point out that this is a range gun only and is never used for defensive purposes. I am however going to return it to a highly polished stock set up in anticipation of the Apex kit.

There is not an apex kit nor will there ever be a kit. The sear assembly is to simple to do anything with it.

I dont think it was actually Jrich in that "sigma underwater" video, i think he just brought it to all our attention!

There is not an apex kit nor will there ever be a kit. The sear assembly is to simple to do anything with it.

like jrich said, apex is making a kit for the siggies.
as for the sear assmbly being simple? the m&p sear is alot more simpler than the sigmas....IMO

First I'm hearing of Apex doing a product for Sigmas. I had suggested this to Randy about a year ago. Where are you getting this from? I was aware they're getting into glocks and M&P barrels and triggers, but not aware of anything for the Sigma
