Interesting thought process. Mr. Holder expects us to believe that a new federal authority (presumably subordinate to himself) would have foresight to ban an active duty US Army Major from owning a handgun. Very "congruous" indeed.

It's not just agenda, Spot. Mr. Holder's sweat spot is on the line.

The task force lead by FBI investigated Maj. Hasan. They had his 18 emails with known terrorist discussing among other things how to transfer money abroad and avoid detection by US law enforcement. The fellow drives into Ft. Hood with a bumper sticker "Allah is Love" and has "Slave of Allah" on his business card. Mental health staff considers him psychotic and a risk of fratricide. What does FBI task force conclude? They conclude that Maj. Hasan is fit for duty.

Now, whom is FBI reported to? That's right, to Mr. Holder. So Mr. Holder decides it's time to show some aggressive action and proposes yet another federal agency, registration schema and more information gathering about private citizens. How does it help condors? Well, maybe it doesn't but it sure goes to show that Mr. Holder is in charge and responding to the problem.

I see that Holder's boss has an approval rating this week of less than 50%. I predict this will continue to fall slowly. I think Mr. Holder will be looking for a new job after the next Presidential election.

With the propensity of the current gaggle in the W/H to throw reverends, colleague's and even family members under the bus, I doubt he'll even make the mid-term elections? Your looking at a dead heat on a merry go round between him and Geithner to win the photo finish for first cabinet post head to be jettisoned. Too much bad ju ju is being generated by his handling of the terrorists. And especially when that decisions DNA can't be shown to have a Crawford Texas return address this time. Entering the 2A minefield with any gusto at this point would likely be the single dumbest move they could make. But to placate their wack job left supporters (which was all Holders NYC trial move was about BTW) who knows what they'd be willing to try throwing them as a bone? JOMO.

If that legislation passes, I'm sure that any terrorist would think twice about having an illegal gun! Surely the mere threat of being prosecuted by a government that is worried about offending the islamofascists will be enough to thwart any evil plan. Then again, aren't IED's already illegal? Hmm, I'll have to think that one through. The terrorists think they answer to a higher law than mans law, and don't give a camels tail about legal issues pursuant to their being in posession of a firearm. Until we understand the nature of the battle, we're going to be on the losing end. Understanding our enemy is paramount to victory, and sticking our collective heads in the sand is going to result in getting our butts blown off.

I can't help but think if one person in that room had been armed when that pos opened fire in the name of "allah", the outcome might have been a little different. When are we going to open our collective eyes and understand that WE ARE AT WAR!!!! ?
