I found this French made pinfire revolver by a close friend of mine.
It is his possesion.
The patent is P. Drivon's no 66991 from 11 may 1866. Made by Laine in Paris.
It is a top-break revolver. To open it you have to sqeeze the triggerguard to the rear. That release a hook so you can open the revolver for loading.

I have really never seen this. It is very nice made. I was very happy to examen this.

Did you see that 20 shot french pinfire on "Sons of Guns"? They made it work with some handmade ammo. Can you imagine? 20 shots!

I have sold one in the gunstore where I worked for in the neighties.
Very impressive. I am not a big fan of pinfire but sometimes you see some really nice revolvers.

I was forgotten to place this pic. The original ejectorplate was missing.
My friend has made this part himself. He is one of the best gunsmiths I know.

I was just reading about these in Elmer Keith's Sixguns this morning. It's a nice coincidence to see some photos of one appear here.
