This gun has been sitting in my safe for the last 2 years. So, I thought why not sell it; prices are up and it should move fast. Then I saw Retired W4's post about his M29. Took the 27 to the range yesterday. I had forgotten what a sweet shooter it is. Either single action or double it puts them where you point them. Ran a cylinder of magnums thru it then switched to .38 wadcutter. Great shooter, great looker; gonna clean it and put it back in the safe.

Same here. Was considering selling my 3.5", and 5" 27-2s, one of my model 28s, and my Pre-25 because I never shoot them. Sold the 5" to a member here, but keeping the 3.5". The jury is still out on the others.

I had 3, traded a -2, 3T, in the box for a new M1A1 "Loaded" and got change back in Oct 2018 . The other 2,1 5 screw & 1 -2 are not going anywhere neither are the 2 5 ".

My 3 1/2" along with my custom .44 Special built on a 5 screw pre-27 3 1/2".
Haven't shot the .357 in 20+ years, but in my case it's not so much about shooting it as it is about possessing a highly sought after S&W and being in a semi-elite .357 magnum club.
So, for me this one will remain part of the herd.

The .357 is beautiful:cool:, but that .44 is way over the top:eek:.

It would sell fast! But then you'd be regretting that you sold it, while the prices on a replacement would just keep on climbing higher & higher!

Very wise decision to shoot it first! I think that move right there should be the first thing a fellow should do when he starts thinking on selling a firearm.

I'm guilty of "selling without shooting" myself, and it always cost me money.

Thanks for sharing that beauty!
