We're number one!

It must be a midwesterner thing. I've always thought the Cards were one of the class acts of baseball. Being a long-suffering Orioles fan the Yankees were at the top of my list and everyone else's lately it seems. I don't think anyone is as hated as the Yankees are.

In 1996, Anheuser-Busch sold the Cards to a group that included Bob Castellini and the Williams bros. from Cincinnati. In 2005, the Williams bros. and Castellini sold their interests in the Card and bought the Reds. They bought out Walt Jocketty's contract from the Cards in 2007 and brought him in as GM.
The Cards owners and Reds owners are all friends and do collective charity work for both cities.
Few ever hear much about this. So if my Reds aren't in the hunt, I gladly pull for the Cards.
They are both class acts.

As a Giants fan I hope the Cards/Dodgers series goes 5 and every game left is extra innings of high scoring enough to go threw 5+ pitchers each. Cards do OK in odd years I guess.
