Not sure if this goes here, but anyway...

What products are you using to clean your M&P (or any other polymer frame pistol, for that matter) ? I don't mean brushes and rags, but what solvents or chemicals?

Thanks.

Like Barb and Harrison, I use the same things I use on my revolvers with one addition: CRC "Dry" Silicone Spray (I should charge them for ads).

For cleaning magazines and the frame parts on combat tupperware, CRC silicone spray washes out the grime and leaves just a touch of silicone powder behind. Won't hold dirt and provides enough lube for the synthetic parts. Excessive oil in the tupperware frames is a real "gum generator."

I'm still using Breakfree CLP, although the new production, does not have the obvious teflon particles, that typically settle out (clear bottle).

The new stuff seems "thinner".

Carb and brake cleaner is bad for polymers. Gun Scrubber or the Smith and Wesson spray cleaner and Militec or Mobil 1 for lube (recommended by factory)

Remington makes a shotgun cleaner/degreaser. For some reason, there are no carcinogens in it, yet their regular gunscrubber type cleaner has a big warning on the can. So I use that. I will also use brake cleaner, but never on a plastic gun or near plastic grips.

I use break-free CLP.
Gentle on blue, seems to get all the crud out of tight spaces and is not effected by cold weather like some wax/oil based cleaners.

From their website:
* Penetrates and spreads along metal surfaces into every pit and crevice to undercut contamination and lift residue away where it can be removed.
* Long-lasting lubricating film dramatically reduces adhesion of sand, grit or other abrasives which cause wear and failure.
* Corrosion inhibitors prevent the formation of rust while Break-Free's unique boundary film protects metal surfaces from moisture and other contaminants.
* Specially formulated synthetic oils won't lose viscosity, dry out or stiffen up in extreme environments - such as cold, heat, dust, dirt, humidity and even salt air - keeping equipment in ready condition for months at a time.
