What did you do with your S&W today?

wiped down and stashed away a 64 and a 640, carried a 442.

Greetings to the Kiwi OP.
Well I finally got to the range today with my new (to me) NG 386. Due to working a lot, bad weather, and a bad cold, my first chance to try out this gun has been delayed a couple weeks.
The range master closed the range early so I only had a chance to shoot about 25 rounds of 38 special ammo through it. I was shooting at 6 inch metal plates from 10 yards. Every shot was a hit except 2 misses after the RO told me he was closing the range early. I really like my new gun. I had cleaned it when I first got it and it looked like it had hardly been fired. It must have been carried quite a bit though because it does have some rub on it. Sights are very good. I love it when you get a new gun and it shoots well.
Cleaned it up when I got home. The PMC FMJ ammo that I shot today must be very clean because not much dirt came out on my patches.
Wish I could have shot it more but it was a fun day anyway. Looking forward to the next time.

Thanks for your replies Guys. It sounds like we are all having fun.

Not a Smith, but I've bought a Benelli M2 shotgun. So I'll try it out and start to get into 3 gun competition.

Good skills Ridgewalker :)

Bill, How is your country as far as allowing handgun and long gun ownership and usage? It is interesting to hear what our friends from other countries have to deal with.

Cleaned my 3'' 686+ yesterday.
Reloaded 45acp today on my new hornady LnL AP today.
Ordered it on Sunday from cabelas got it on wednsday.
Got the 45 shell plate today, from midway, it was ordered 5 min. after the press.
What a great press, much faster than the old single stage!

I opened the safe, took out my m28 and fondled it a little and put it away.

In my mind I own, I get to touch, I get to shoot a piece of S&W history.

Bill welcome from across the big pond. How's the best trout fishing in the world?

Hi BigBill, AverageBill here :)

The trout fishing has been good - I believe. I haven't caught any for a long time (3 or 4 years) but I've seen some really big ones while out on the paddleboard. Everyone seems to think of Taupo, but the biggest one I saw was in Lake Benmore Lake Benmore fishing-Lake Benmore trout fishing-nzfishing it was huge. I was standup paddleboarding down a river three weeks ago that flowed into Taupo and saw dozens of 3lb to 6lb sized trout :)

Hi Ridgerider. Getting a long gun license is about a 15 minute exam then you can buy rifles and shotguns by just showing your license. To own a handgun you need to belong to a club, and turn up at the club at least 12 times a year or something like that. Then there is the collectors endorsement on your gun license. You can buy anything, and I mean anything, but you are not allowed ;) to shoot it. Bren guns, full auto anything, anti tank... So tough in some ways but easy in other ways.

Yesterday, I purchased my newest Smith.

This morning, the 442 came out from under the pillow and went into the pocket of my pajamas. Hopefully I will have some time to give the "new" 3914 a workout. At least until my fingers go numb.

I opened up a S&W box and took out a new 642 that will be my new carry piece. It's the first new S&W I've bought since 1977. (of course I have bought about 60 USED ones!)

What did I do with mine? Today?
Nothing,,,,absolutely nothing! Didn't even look at it!
Probably will be the same tomorrow! ;)

I blew the cobwebs out of the Model 36. I use hollow based wadcutters with it and I can't believe how accurate a little gun with such a short barrel can be :)
I am a gawker/fondler today, :D and yesterday, and the day before Ect, ect. Oh and I shot one a couple weeks ago

I took 7 revolvers and a 22LR rifle with a new scope, none of them S&W, to the range today, but I did still have my 637 Wyatt Deep Cover in my go bag.
