What Did You Reload Most Recently?

100 rounds of .38 Special. 158 grain Remington lead SWC, 2.9 grains Bullseye, Remington primer, light roll crimp.

These are extra-light loads for my S&W 1899 M&P, serial number 225, shipped December, 1899. Functions perfectly and shoots to point of aim with this load at 50 feet.

Wow, a real early bird! What a unique and neato revolver.

Hello

Looks like I'm not the only one here who reloads .38 S&W LOL.

The last cartridges I reloaded were .38 S&W with .360" 160 grain lead flat nose bullets from Western Bullet Company, over 2.8 grains of Unique. These are my ".380" Mk.IIIz" (not a real cartridge nomenclature, I made that up) cartridges to be fired from my .380" S&W Victory Model and Webley & Scott Mk. IV Revolver.

I also "reloaded" 100 empty cases of .303" with 7.62mm Ball (aka Full Metal Jacket) projectiles, onto empty fired Berdan-Primed 1980's era South African .303" cases. I got the 7.62mm bullets cheap at a gun show and when loaded onto a .303" case they simulate the .303" Mk.VII Ball Cartridge fairly well. These inert rounds will be used for WWII Reenacting displays.
Thanks
Mark

Some 148-gr DEWCs (that I cast this past week), mixed brass, Federal 100s, and Bullseye. Going to do some of the same with Titegroup just to try.

I love this $2/50 ammo!!!

250 45 ACP cartridges using 5.0 gr Titegroup and Hornady 230 gr XTP/JHP. Really needed to load some rifle stuff but just did not have the time.

After this weekend's big Distinguished Revolver Tryout (where I took all of the guns that I own that can chamber a .38 Special, are double/single-action, and have adjustable sights--four guns--and shot them back-to-back, 20 rounds per distance per gun (40 rounds each gun), to figure out which one worked best for me for DR competitions), my .38 DR ammo was a bit depleted, so I put together another 200 rounds of it (.38 SPL, 5.8gr AA#5, 158gr Remington LSWC, Winchester cases, Remington 1-1/2 primers, unknown OAL).

While I was at it, I figured that I would eventually need some more practice .38s, so I put together another 100 rounds of that, too (.38 SPL, 3.7gr Bullseye, 158gr Valiant LSWC, Winchester cases, Winchester WSP primers, unknown OAL).

Should be good to go.

100 rounds of 38 Special

50 with:
Hornady 158 grain LSWC
3.1 grains of Clays (max load per Hodgdon)
Winchester WSP primer

50 with:
same bullet
4.5 grains of Universal (max load per Hodgdon)
same primer

Neat thing was going from Clays to Universal I didn't have to adjust my Lee Perfect Powder Measure at all. I quadruple checked it and the weight was valid.

YMMV

All the Best,
D. White

Today, 25 rds 9mm 124 gr HDY XTP 4gr Hodgdon Clays just to see if I like it for the 469. Worked it up from 3.5 gr. No pressure signs. Max listed is 3.7. Accurate and doesn't seem to bark as much as Remy green box or even Wolf.

.32 S&W Long with 90 gr. Hornady HBWC's. On a Dillon 550, using Starline brass, CCI primers, and 1.7 gr. of Win 231. For a Pardini HP target pistol. Please, no wimpy-gun comments........

Yesterday I loaded just 10 .357's with Lasercast 158gr LSWC, 12.4gr of AA#9, Starline brass, CCI 500 primers to see if the Lasercast do any better than the lead bullets I was previously using for my 1979 Marlin Model 1894 with microgroove rifling. At 50 yds. my previous groups looked like I had shot buckshot. I used Unique, AA#5, and AA#9 with various charges to no avail. Prior to yesterday I loaded 50 .357's with Hornady 158 gr. FP/XTP, 13.5gr AA#9, Starline brass, CCI 500 primers. The XTP's are very accurate in the Marlin.

What difference does it make the caliber we loaded last? I mean.....really?

None at all. Just to say that we did something, and to say what's working for us, and what changes we might be trying. It also gives us the opportunity to comment on other people's loads, or ask for comments on our own without starting a new thread. Feel free to ignore this thread, if you like.

I just put together another 100 .38 wadcutters (148gr HBWC, 3.1gr W231) and another 100 .38 semi-wadcutters (158gr LSWC, 5.8gr AA#5), and I'm about to assemble some .44 Specials (240gr LSWC, 6.3gr AA#5) and some .45 ACP (185gr LSWC, 4.3gr AA#2).

.357MAG Hornady 140gr. XTP on top of 19.0 grains of H 110, using winchester SPM primers and Starline case. Time for payback against the hogs that ruined my deer feeders!!!

.38 special, 2.8 grns. bullseye and a 148 dewc. ran 500 off about ten minutes ago. they are for a ppc converted model 10, bull barrel with a bomar rib. double action only. sweet load for a sweet gun.

200 .45 Colt. Used 9.2gr Unique behind a 250gr RNFP. For use in my Puma carbine in .454 Casull. Just obtained some .454 brass (apparently they are as scarce as hen's teeth up here) and hope to fill all 100 cases this weekend (provided my dies have arrived at the local toy emporium).
