What Did You Reload Most Recently?

12/26/09 I loaded up the following:

200 rounds 9mm Berry's, 124gr. RN, Titegroup 4.0gr. Win. brass, 1.150 AOL.

100 rounds 9mm XTP, 124gr. HP, Titegroup 4.3gr. Win. brass, 1.115 AOL.

Hello

I reloaded one box (50 rounds) of 158 grain lead round nose .38 S&W Special cartridges last night. I will probably reload another box of that, and/or a box of .380" Revolver Cartridges for my Victory Model and Webley & Scott Mk. IV Revolvers in the next day or so.
Thanks
Mark

put together another 100 rounds of my favorite .44 Special load: 6.3gr AA#5, Competition Proven 240gr LSWC, PMC brass, Remington 2-1/2 primer, 1.485" OAL.

50 rounds of some plinker .38SPLs: 3.7gr Bullseye, 158gr LSWC, 1.439" OAL. First reloads of the new year. These will go in a CXXX Official Police and a S&W 15-7.

And then, since it had rolled through midnight, the 100 rounds of .45ACP (4.3gr AA#2, 200gr Zero LSWC, 1.239" OAL) were technically loaded the next 'day'. These will hopefully give my S&W 25-2 the necessary oomph to feel like a real cartridge (I had been using 185gr LSWCs in front of the same 4.3gr AA#2 charge, and they felt weak...not a satisfying enough recoil).

I went through a 1000 count box of Remington .38 HBWCs then a 500 SWCs. In between I snuck in a 100 .44 magnum light lead bullet loads. That was spread out over a couple of weeks.

Just finished rolling a few boxes of 9mm, 115 gr XTPs for target work. 'll run them over the chrono and test for accuracy in a couple weeks.

Today I loaded up somemore .44 Specials. I bought 500 pcs. of Starline brass, which I received a week or so ago. I only had a few hundred Special cases for many years until this purchase. I was loading 15 gr. of 2400 under Speer 240 gr. semi-jacketed HPs with CCI 300 primers. Last night I loaded the same charge under 240 gr LSWCs.

On 12/23/2009 being home for the holidays and bored I setup my 2 progressives. This is what I loaded in 6 hours.

.44 mag - 6000 rounds (I'm now down to 1k of Win LP primers).
Lyman 245 gr LSWC and 15.5 gr of 2400.

9mm - 1000 rounds (Every primer I had).
Lyman 147 gr RNFP and 4.2 gr Power Pistol.

Still have about 2k of .44 spl to do but short on primers.
Also have about 2k of .357 mag to do but out of primers.

My favorite load! I tried from 13.0 to 16.0 and 15.0 was the best.

50 rounds of .38 Special plinkers: 3.7gr Bullseye, 158gr Valiant LSWC, Winchester cases, Winchester WSP primers, OAL unknown (my cheap caliper are on the fritz, though I think the OAL is still around 1.443")

100 rounds of .45 AutoRim: 4.3gr AA#2, 200gr Zero LSWC, Starline cases, Remington 2-1/2 primers, OAL unknown (caliper again; eyeballed the OAL to be close to that of my .45ACP rounds at 1.239")

100 rounds of .38 Special DR Practice ammo: 5.8gr AA#5, 158gr Remington LSWC, Winchester cases, Winchester WSP primers, OAL unknown (probably close to 1.440").

Anyone have any recommendations for a dial caliper? No batteries, no cheap Chinese-made electronics to go on the fritz (though I did like the easy readability and the ability to switch from metric to standard of the digital caliper...); buy quality once or buy cheap over and over...

valkyriekl,
I bought $17 Harbor Freight dial caliper 5 years ago...the only time I've ever had an issue...the day I left some papers on the thing that kept the batteries on...yep, dead batteries. That's it. It's a Chicom, but it works just fine. I doubt you will be able to find many (other than high-end stuff) that is U.S. Made...times have changed!

I would recommend Brown & Sharpe Dial caliper. They are very smooth, made of a very good grade of stainless and run very smooth.

I've used them in very harsh manufacturing environments with no problems.

Brown & Sharpe Universal Dial Calipers << Quality Control << Online Catalog << Penn Tool Co. Looks like about $90 here.

Yeah, buy a Brown & Sharpe!

I know Tool & Die makers that don't have a pair of Brown & Sharpe calipers! They are the considered the best tools by some in the fine measurement folks!

I have a pair of Chicom dial calipers that I got at the counter of MSC. Sometimes, not always but, there are damaged boxes and such that are "in store specials" and they are not advertised. I think I paid $10 for each pair of mine.

Mititoyo makes a good set, digital like you have. They are over $100 and make it a major purchase in "Skippy's house", which makes it a negotiable item! ;)

For what it's worth, you can get a 1" to 2" micrometer and do 90% of all the revolver cartridges. Some of the automatic ones you will need a 0" to 1" micrometer. It depends on what you load most.

I have a set of "Hung Kung Fooie" 0" to 6" micrometers that came in a set and in a wooden box. Just fine for what I will run into.

Grainger is another place to try. Snapon or Mac may have a truck that stops in your area and they should have a pair.

Just get your wallet out if it has "Blue Point" on it! ;)
