Reloaded some .44 Special this morning. 4.4grains 700-X and 240 grain lead semi-wadcutters. I usually use 231, but I want to try 700-X which is the type of powder I use in my .44-40 cartridges.

Yesterday, I put together 300 rounds of .38 Specials: 200 of 5.8gr AA#5 behind 158gr Remington LSWC, Federal cases, Winchester WSP primers, 1.436" OAL; and 100 of 3.1gr W231 behind 148gr Remington HBWC, Federal cases, Winchester WSP primers, 1.186" OAL.

The last rounds I loaded were for my beloved "Crackbaby" (Rem. 1903 Springfield that has many many repaired cracks in the stock and handguard). In preparation for a upcoming vintage military rifle match, I prepared some of my ultimate match ammunition which club members have politely code named "Sidewinder Missiles." That load consist of a nice little 165 gr. hard cast lead bullet sized .311 and loaded over 8.0 gr. of Unique in necksized Winchester .30-06 cases with Remington 9 1/2 primers. This load averages a delightful 96.9 for 10 shot strings at 100 yds. firing prone slow fire w/ a sling. Club members call these loads "Sidewinder Missiles" because there is a little yaw at 100 yds. They don't realize that the yaw is part of my calculation to get my .311 bullets to make bigger holes in the target and thus give me a scoring advantage.

Just loaded 300 44 mags, 240 RNFP. Then 300 38 Special +P 125 RN. Then 300 S&W 40 185 FMJ, Then I finished with 500 .223 Rem. 68 HPBT. Did this over the last 2 days. Going to the range tomorrow to have some fun. The weather here in West Texas should be good.

Just finished up over the last few weeks: 500 rounds 41 mags, 300 rounds 44 mags, 300 rounds 44 specials. Starting work on the 38/357's.

The last loading session was about 50 rds. of 380 to brake in my new Sig p238. Ithought I had more bullets but no joy . what I put together was 3.6 gr. uniqueunder a90 gr.XTP. Seems to do well in the little Sig.!!!

I'll have you know that I was poking IMR 4320 in those .30 Remington cases.
I'll bet I could make Unique work though.

12 rounds of .44 Special (6.3gr AA#5, Bayou Bullets 240gr LSWC, PMC brass, Remington 2-1/2 primer, 1.527" OAL) and 12 rounds of .44 Magnum (18.5gr 2400, Bayou Bullets 240gr LSWC, Starline brass, Remington 2-1/2 primer, 1.673" OAL). Should be fun:

I've been casting 158 gr. LSWC .357 and 200 gr. LSWC from wheel weights and gas checking the .357. Over the last few weekends, I've loaded 1000 .357 using 14.5 gr. W296 in mixed cases, 100 180 gr. Hornady XTP JHP .357 using 13.3 gr. of W296 in Winchester new brass, and 200 158 gr. Hornady XTP JHP. using 14.5 gr. W296. I also loaded 300 158 gr. SJHP .357 over 14.5 gr. of H110. Plus, I've put together 300 200 gr. .45 ACP LSWC using mixed brass over 6.0 gr. of Unique.
I'm getting ready to make a .308 and .223 run later today. I have about 4000 pieces of .223 brass and 500 pieces of .308 brass that needs trimmed. Once that's done, I'll set up the presses. I have two Dillon 550B's; one new RL and one older model. The new one is set up for small primer and the older one is set up for large primer, but I haven't set up tool heads for them yet. Yesterday, I was surprised to find some .45 AR brass I forgot I had. I'm going to have to get something going for that load too.

357 magnum case, 158 grain LSWC (Laser Cast), 5.7 grains Unique, 1.615 COL, med-heavy Redding profile crimp.
Was shooting indoors so went with this lighter load. This was a very mild and accurate load @75 feet. Didn't get any complaints about muzzle blast from the 9mm shooters this time.
