Best not to start a thread and get grief within 2 or 3 posts. Some folks are just jerks. You can try and offer great, helpful information and someone will nitpick... whatever.
The lack of basic respect and courtesy is reflected on roadways as well.
I'm sure I'm showing my age with this. Long ago I was told don't say or write anything that you wouldn't want to see on the front page of the New York Times [substitute your favorite newspaper]. It's probably saved me a lot of grief.Best not to start a thread and get grief within 2 or 3 posts.
Concealed Carry & Self Defense has some whoppers of food fights. If you're just here for the firearms content, browsing the firearms specific forums, you're very unlikely to see any posts that cause you any angst.
If you stray off into The Lounge or 2nd Amendment forum which are all about opinions, you're unlikely to see much of anything relating to specifics on S&W or any other firearms. But you'll probably easily see posts that offend you.
If you don't want the angst and offense, the best course of action is to restrain yourself from the temptation to go down into the basement.
I'm one of the geezers. Took me a moment to figure out why it was a Z instead of an S. Some people just don't have the sense god gave a goose.Laughing yourself to sleep![]()
That's it, i suspect. 20 years ago I frequented a now-defunct forum for S&W fanciers, and everyone was over-the-top nice. Why? Because that's how civilized discourse was conducted, I guess. People have become more combative, more opinionated....or perhaps just more willing to defend their opinions forcefully. And in that spirit, I will state (forcefully) that social media is going to be the death of us.326MOD10, I suspect that it's the times we live in.
My day is already bright. I'd hate to think Internet forums, rude road ragers, and cell phones made up a big part of my life.Read the daily Humor column. It will brighten your day![]()

You are thinking of Vertical Scope. There is another company, also Canadian, called Second Media Corp. that now seems to control all the gun forums along with several hundred forums on other topics.A year or so ago a Canadian conglomerate called virtual scope bought up almost every gun forum on the internet.
They upgraded the software and changed the rules and unfortunately when one Virtual Scope forum is down they're all down.
I'm just wondering if virtual scope hasn't bought this forum and just not announced it yet

I never call people stupid, I figure they already know.

I suspect the two companies are related but I really don't know.
To answer your question, NO I have NOT sold this forum to either of them.
