While training drawling and dry firing with a unloaded M&P bodyguard 380 without laser I noticed a rattle somewhere inside the gun. It's not in the mag. I know this is very vague, but hoping some may have seen this before and can point me in the right direction. Thank you.

My Bodyguard rattles too.
If I put a small amount of pressure on the mag release most of the rattle on mine goes away, I can still hear a very faint rattle going on some where above the mag well, maybe a spring that is not under tension at the time, I don't know. Everything functions as it should and it shoots fine.

Mine's loaded. I just shook it, and it rattled. Dropped the mag and the rattle stopped. Rattle or not, it shoots good.

:) I just had to shake my Bodyguard, never noticed it before, but yep it rattles. Take the magazine out, and shake the mag, yep the magazine rattles a bit. Tiny noise in the empty gun, it's the slide.

Don't worry about it ;)

Thank you. I took the gun apart, and the noise is in the frame not the slide. The rattle sounds to be on top of the frame back towards the grip if that makes sense. This is my primary edc. I have nowhere to test fire it until covid calms down and just noticed this rattle. Don't know if it's normal or I should be concerned. I've had this gun a few years, and I'm not saying it hasn't rattled the whole time, but I just noticed it this month.

Interesting.......I dont know what that is? I've had Bodyguards since 2012.....never noticed a noise. I must check mine now

Checked mine this morning, it is of a 2019 manufacturing run. It rattles with the mag in but less with the mag out. It functions flawlessly!
This is my carry gun also.
This is not the first pistol I have owned in the last 50 years that did this. NOT a problem as far as I am concerned!

Be SAFE and Shoot Often!
