I'm not much of a gun collector, but I do have a few special ones.
1. Winslow in .270 that my uncle gave me after taking me to Africa on a hunting trip in the late '60s.
2. Winchester M1 Carbine from 1944 (always wanted one).
The rest of the guns are tools, I shoot USPSA competition so except for my 9c carry gun, the rest are used for matches.
What I do collect (or more accurately did collect) is metallic wood plane, mostly Stanley brands between the years 1890 and 1930. I stopped collecting them because they became the "hot" collection item a number of years back and the prices went through the roof to the point that I wouldn't pay the asking price anymore. Thankfully I had acquired quite a few before then. Maybe the prices will return to normal at some point but I'm not holding my breath.
