I can't say it's my favorite as I just got it , but I really had fun with this one today . This month was my B-day . I decided I needed to buy a B-Day gun . I was in my local gun store on Thursday talking to Mike , just shooting the breeze . He went into the back room and walked out with a very late model gorgeous Colt Police Positive in 38 special . We both felt the owner had never shot it . The bluing was gorgeous . The corners and edges of the frame were sharp so it had never been buffed down for a re-blue , no turn line on the cylinder . I had to have it and he made a very reasonable deal , $450 . I had the opportunity to shoot it today . W0W , talk about accurate . I was just shooting wadcutter loads , 148 gr over 2.8 grs of Bullseye powder at almost 20 yds . It is such a light weight gun and the action is literally smooth as silk , made back in the days when every piece was hand fitted . I have not had a revolver in 38 special for many years . This one was / has been worth the wait . This is my 2nd Colt . My first was an Old Model Trooper in 357 magnum which was again , a gun of very low rounds , if any . If finances would allow it , I would like to have one of the new Pythons , 4" barrel . I am a true Smith fan , but am truly enjoying my Colts . Regards Paul
