What is your favorite handgun

Gee, that's like asking. "who is your favorite mistress?" I mean, there are so many of them: Linda, Susan, Cindy...oops, heh-heh-heh, I mean, uhhhh, the Smith Model 66, the Model 686, the 60, it's a tough call. Really. It's hard to narrow it down to just one gun.

Top 3: Model 66, Model 60 snub, and Colt 1911 .45 ACP, full-size.

Yup. And thanks. :)

D spring made quite a noticeable improvement in the DA trigger pull. And the grips improved the feel dramatically for my small-medium hands. Had thought about getting the WC short-reach trigger, but with the LTT grips it wasn't necessary anymore. While I never had any issues with the safety, I do prefer it decock-only.

Had IWI PT night sights installed early on, but they're dead now. Can't re-lamp the front sight, so I just painted the rear sight black and the front sight fluorescent orange.

It also has the Wolff coil trigger return spring. At the time I think they called it the Border Patrol trigger return spring. I really like it.

Been thinking about swapping out the rear sight with a WC rear sight and maybe installing the WC mag guide. Not really high priorities, though. At some point I may install the latest upgraded locking block; mine is still on the original 1st gen version.

Not sure where you are but along with Langdon and Wilson there's Allegheny Arms and Gun Works in Pittsburgh... Josh is right up there with Langdon and Wilson's folks.

I saved up my pennies and got myself a Wilson Combat Centurion Tactical G.... with a special serial # as a "retirement gift" to myself.

A LTT 92 or two is on my wishlist. :)

I was lucky awhile back (like 25 years ago) and got a couple of 92SB compacts and single stack type M's with the round trigger guards all in Beretta's Italian bright blue........ Langdon talked me into waiting and getting a Elite II while he was at Beretta; but...... I fell in love with the round trigger guards of the early guns (pre F) and Wilson's Machined decocker only vs the kit on Langdon's guns.

Also a rare bird a 92FS Compact Type M (single stack) DAO...... like a 9shot revolver........

While I also have many to choose from and I am continually buying and trying others, I keep coming back to my Springfield Armory Lt Wt. Micro Compact 1911 45acp. I've never found a pistol or revolver that fits my hand and points as naturally as this Micro. If I'm awake and upright, 90-95% of the time the Micro is on my person. With the Wilson 7rd Officers magazine + one in the chamber, I've got 8 rounds in hand and I always have 2 additional 7rd mags on my person. Now a discontinued model, I am glad that I found another like new Micro on one of the auction sites and snatched it up as a spare.

I enjoy trying to put 10 shots into one hole at 20 yards. Either of these are capable. Just add your favourite 1911 lower.

Pretty easy question for me to answer. My Mike Curtis built 1911 which I used for bullseye for a few years. It is just the nicest gun to shoot I own, both its accuracy and trigger.

My favorite is probably a tie between the M29-2 8 3/8" and the 6" blued Python. My most used is a Taurus M441 44 special with a 4" bbl. It does nearly everything I need an outdoors handgun today with reasonable weight. I guess it is a Taurus made during their good period because I have owned it since about 1993 and have had no problems with it.

so which one do I pick
my first 22 - semi or revolver...
my dad's first 22 ruger from 1949...
one my dad gave me for a birthday present 19-4 3T...
my first N frame 28-0 S number...
3 inch CS-1 inherited from dad...
his Colt 1911...
his Browning HiPower...
etc...

Besides, I think this is a trap by our significant others to get us to sell the rest of our guns to pay for a post covid vacation

My favorite

It's a tough call but the one in my avatar. It's a Jack Weigand custom engraved 642 given to me by the NC Assoc of Chiefs of Police in 1998 for serving as their President. I do shoot and carry it. It's way too good a shooter to be a safe queen. :D I have others I love to shoot but this one is a symbol of the mutual respect between my peers and I. For that reason, it is PRICELESS and INCOMPARABLE.

Depends on the caliber, maybe I have too many... LoL
.22 - MkII target, 617, Single Six
9mm - 6906, Taurus 92 AF
.38 - 60, 36, and 637
.357 - 10-15, and GP100
.44 - GP100, Vaquero Sheriff's
.45 - RIA Standard, Ruger American

That's a tough one. Probably my Colt Gold Cup. I think I shoot it more than anything in my safe. It's an old design that still works well. For carry I use a Sig or HK but they don't have a soul.

I once knew an old timer when I was in HS who lived in our farming community in SE AZ.. This was in the early 60's and he was in his 70's or possibly 80's at the time. One day he pulled out an old military holster with a 1911 in it. He said he had rode with Pershing chasing Poncho Villa in MX and he carried that pistol. I wanted one of those from that time on. I asked all of the adults I knew about that guy and they all said he was the real deal. He even had the uniform.
