It is time for another photo safari into what is out there. Please tell us what your favorite non-S&W handgun is and maybe why and maybe a picture. Mine is my most recent acquisition, a later model Browning Hi-Power. Aster reading Stephen Camp's book and WWII veterans on both sides praise for the gun, I had to have one, and from the first round, I knew this was a good firearm. The factory mags are not cheap, but they are available, and we will see what Springfield comes out with on their Hi Power project.

1976 Browning Hi Power. Parkerized finish. Had the slide dovetailed to accept Mark III sights. Currently in the shop to have wider safety installed. It came with VZ thin grips which I really liked. I also tried a set of Navridex grips that looked like Spegel's. Didn't quite care for them. Settled on the Hogue grips. Will add pictures in a couple of weeks when I get it back.

Why? Inimitable ergonomics (nothing else feels like a Hi Power), quality, reliability, and history!

This is like picking your favorite child, but the BHP is a particular favorite of mine, including the one I carry every day. As a work of art, this one is a favorite. It brings me joy for reasons I cannot completely articulate. Edited to add: This is not the one I carry every day.

Colt Gold Cups. Pretty much all of them

I love the flat top and serrated slide, I love the Eliason rear and Patridge front sights that the older ones came with. I love the wide trigger that Gold Cups have

I love the way the Gold Cups look (especially blue steel and Ivory) and I love the way they shoot

I really love carrying the Gold Cup Commanders that came out back in nineties. I have the blue one pictured above that can be worn at Formal events and I have the stainless one pictured below that can be carried in all environments

As the 10MM Auto cartridge was emerging, I bought a Delta Gold Cup

Years ago I had the chance to buy a 9MM Gold Cup from a run of 500 pieces

This is limited to only one "Your Favorite Handgun", right? Because have many that fall into different categories. IE: revolver, auto, single shot, target, match, .22, and various.........

Those pistols are stunning. Congrats.
My BHPs would be my favorites.

Probably this Colt Cobra. I sometimes carry other guns - 1903 Pocket Hammerless or a Beretta 84 or 85 - but I always drift back to this lightweight Colt. The practical reasons? Six shots, good sights, great action, very light. The non-practical reason? Film noir, of course.

For me its the 1911. Doesn't really matter who makes it, its my favorite semi-auto pistol. It just fits my hand so perfectly and points naturally for me.
Here's some of them. Its an old picture. I've added a few more since this was taken.

But a nod to the OP as the Hi-power is my favorite 9mm. Got three of them and plan on adding a fourth as soon as I find a SA-35 for sale. ;)

Mine is also my most recent acquisition; a SIG P210 Target.
It's not as iconic looking as my Colt Python or Colt 1911 Competition 38 Super, but it gets used more because it's much more satisfying to shoot.

I'd have to say my 2.5" Python. This one gets shot quite a bit for a reason - the balance and trigger are just spectacular. While I have the service stocks for it, the larger target stocks feel better in my hands.

And it keeps getting better as it was barely shot by the original owner. When me and the boys go shooting, this is the one that everyone wants to shoot.

I don't have many handguns that aren't S&W. I would have to say it would be my Ruger SBH which is older than my 1st new S&W which was a K22 in 1964. In fact was my 1st purchase of a brand new CF handgun. Even though my dad had to sign for it. Had the full meal deal in Ruger SAs before I saw the light.:eek:

I was torn between several brands, but will go with Ruger, their single action big bores in particular. Own about a half dozen of them, and have taken a lot of game with them. Two of my most used are pictured, along with my first Ruger SA - A Single Six Convertible.
