I will begin by saying that I like Sulphur Springs, Texas and the fine people who live there. Sulphur Springs is the nearest larger town to my home and offers amenities that the closer smaller towns don't. Included in those amenities are two glass outdoor bathrooms situated in the middle of the town square. These bathrooms, constructed of one-way mirror glass and stainless steel, are the first of their kind in the U.S.

Having used them, I can say that it feels a little strange doing my business on the town square in plain view of people passing by. You feel like everyone can see you. The fact is those on the outside can't see you; only you can see them.

The mayor and the city are touting the bathrooms as a tourist attraction. I'm doing my part by asking all of our Forum members to: "Come visit and sit a while." :D

Churchill Downs, the track and its Kentucky Derby Museum. The Hillerich & Bradsby factory, with a 120-foot Louisville slugger casually leaning against the building (and a fine baseball museum inside). The internationally-known annual Actors Theater Festival Of New Plays.

Space Needle, to the surprise of no one. Spent quite a bit of time trying to find the "best" picture for you but couldn't decide.

If you like music, the EMP.

If you want aviation, the Museum of Flight at Boeing. SR-71, Concorde, WWI and WWII aviation sections, an original Air Force One. Not to be missed if you get here.

Or for the outdoor enthusiasts among you, Mount Rainier National Park.

Mount Rushmore National Memorial (U.S. National Park Service)

Rapid City and The Black Hills of South Dakota. Don't miss the Badlands.

My uncle had a dairy farm near Woonsocket, South Dakota. When I was a kid my dad was into road trips and we vacationed there one summer. While in the state we visited Mount Rushmore and I remember it being awesome.

When I was a boy we visited many of our Country's state parks. I wish I had the time to do that again. There's so much of this great land that I haven't seen. :(

Here are just a few pics from around the neighborhood. The closest tourist attraction would be the Nebo Loop road that starts in the canyon a block away.

Mount Nebo is in the backyard

You can toss in five national parks within a three or less hour drive. This isn't in or all that near any one of them so you can imagine how much better it gets.

Our big tourist draw is nowhere near as mundane and commonplace as those already mentioned. While I am sure you will always find somebody willing to go out of their way to visit your town lets see anybody top Lodi, Wisconsin's 'Suzy the Duck'!!!

Bill, If I came to visit I don't think I would want to leave. Beautiful is all I can say.

Not really a tourist attraction but we used to have a funeral home with a drive up window. Really.

This may sound strange coming form a guy who lives in Texas but I've heard of "Suzy the Duck Day". Isn't there a flower basket or something that the duck lives in?

In my town....

In my town it's the fairgrounds that host all kinds of events

. That's ALL there is in my town except homes and stores.

In our nearest REAL city, Charleston, big attractions are:

Patriot's Point
The Old Market
The area south of Broad with really nice old homes
Fort Sumter
Spoleto festival in the spring
Plantations are nearby
The Battery and White Point Gardens
Harbor boat tours
FOOD
Historic EVERYTHING, Old Churches, Dock Street Theater, etc.
