In pistols I use Butch's Bore Shine when I have fired a large number of jacketed rounds. I find it works very well dissolving copper fouling. For heavily leaded barrels I use a 50/50 mix of Hoppes No. 9 and Kroil preceded by several passes with a bronze brush wrapped with Chore Boy. I usually follow that with Kleen Bore Lead Away patches. For general cleaning of long guns I use Break Free CLP. Again, if the round count is high I will use Butch's here as well.
I use Butch's Bore Shine, I like how easily it removes powder residue. I still have quart bottle of Hoppe's No. 9 that I bought in the mid-70's, I used it the other day to clean My ruger 77/44. I had read the Hoppe's No. 9 thread on the forum and waxed nostalgic for the old time Hoppe's smell.
barnes cr-10 with a nylon brush for heavy copper fouling. standard cleaning i use montana extreme or shooters choice and bronze brush followed by a dry patch and lightly oiled patch. if the bore still appears dirty i use jb's bore paste on a patch followed by a solvent soaked patch, dry patch, last a lightly oiled patch.
