What to do with two 64 3" revolvers?

I'd sell that lock gun so fast it would make your head spin. Then I'd use the profits to buy a prelock 64; they are very inexpensive in comparison with other models. Better yet, I'd buy a completely different prelock model to help diversify my collection.

If they both shoot well for you then I would keep both. I do not sell good shooting guns anymore and regret many that I did sell when I was young. One other thing to think about is it might be difficult to purchase a Model 64 or any gun very soon.

Keep both .... you know how hard they are to come by. You looked for two years.....what's the rush to get rid of #2 .
My Daddy always bought two of just about everything " Never know when you going to need a spare !" was his philosophy .
My philosophy is to never sell a gun you like....you will come to regret it .

And you are asking this question to a bunch of S&W enablers???

Finding not one but two in such a short time? Perhaps a lottery ticket is in your future....

One bobbed and one stock? Perfect. I have a 3 Inch 64 and its my favorite shooting revolver.

O/P, you were able to snag" two great revolvers.

If it were my decision I'd sell one and keep the other. Or as I prefer the heft and feel of the 2 1/2" K frames, I'd buy a 2 1/2" model 19/66 then sell one of the M-64's, so I broke even on the pricing.

Trust me, I've got two bucks in my pocket and it may be time to play! I recognize the logic in asking enablers and honestly I've been pleasantly surprised that a couple of people have suggested to sell one!

I have to apply my K38 philosophy here ... you can never have too many! Keep both, especially if it is a model that you carry! I don't subscribe to the NY reload philosophy (partly because I live in a may issue state). Having a replacement model of what you carry is beneficial in the event of a shoot and your primary carry is seized. I am not fond of DAO in a revolver, since you never know when you may need to fire a precision shot.

In summary, I would say keep it!

your seized gun could be incarcerated for 3 months (personal experience) and having that spare is a blessing

"Should I sell one or keep them both"
We should all have such hard choices to make.

Shoot the pee pee out of the newer one. Give that one a DAO hammer if you want. Baby the older one. It will be an investment. They aren't getting any cheaper.

My first inclination would be to keep both. Can't go wrong with 2 k frames in your carry rotation or in your range bag. But maybe consider trading one toward another gun you don't have. For instance maybe trade one for a true k-snub with a shorter barrel. Or trade one for a 15/67 with a 4 inch barrel, which would be a better range gun IMO. Good luck, those are 2 nice .38s you have there.
