What was your first dogs name?

My first dog was a female Boxer named "Brenda", when I was about 7 in 1948; I still remember coming home from the Vet with Brenda in my lap after having her ears trimmed/set. Brenda could scare hell out of anyone just because of her looks and size, but she was as gentle as could be. :)

When I was a kid I had a dog named Pancho. He was a small dog,
white, with a curly tail. No dog food for him. He ate the same things
we ate. Table scraps were his diet. He lived to age 18. I was 21, just
home from the military when he passed away. He had a strange habit
of taking a nap out in the middle of the street. Fortunately there was
not a lot of traffic. He was a good little dog.

My first dog was when I was a kid the family dog was named Kipper. He was a toy fox terrier that had an attitude about certain things. He would bite the mail man or anyone that tried petting his black spot on his back above his bobbed tail. I guess he remembered his tail getting cut off all except a 2" stub. He was spoiled on people food and wouldn't even eat dog food unless it was horse meat. He loved that stuff and mom would cook it up for him and the cooking stunk the whole kitchen up. He was so fat from eating people food that his belly dragged on the ground as he walked.
My favorite dog was a German Shepherd I named Buster. When I got him I looked at him and I said well buster what am I going to call you. He was then named Buster. People were very scared of him because of his bark and his dark face he looked like he was a bear. He was extremely protective. I will never forget Buster.
I now have a part springer spaniel mutt I named Kipper.

I got my first dog at 55. Got him from a shelter. His name is Chester. He's a pit breed no one else wanted. He was in the shelter for two years. Most loving dog I have ever known. He has never bitten anyone or even offer to do so. Only fight I am aware of is the one the shelter operator said happened when another dog tried to dominate him. My dad, and his outfit in Korea, during the Korean war had a dog named Combat. My dad said the dog saved their lives a few times because it could tell the difference between and north and south Koreans. My dad also told me of a man in West Virginia that did not like other people's dogs. The man had a German Shepperd. They could not prove he was poisoning dogs but one day the man walked past my dad's farm throwing hotdogs into the yard. After he passed by, the man's dog followed and ate the hotdogs. The dog died from poisoning that same day.

I was 5 or 6..... grandpa brought home this puppy, told my parents she was 6 months old..... turns out she was a great pyrenees and was about 6 weeks old.... grandpa had a sense of humor like that, her name was Lacey and was a heck of a childhood friend.

First dog i got for myself was a black lab/Newfoundland mix, looked like a bear cub when i found him on the side of the road so i called him bear.... and he lived up to the name, got huge within 6 months and smarter than any dog ive ever owned.... was a heck of a duck dog.... got hit by a car when he was 2.

My first dog was a little black cocker spaniel named Joy, I was less than two years old and have no doggy memorys only from pictures. My dad backed over Joy and killed him, better him than me.
Good old thread.
Strangely similar for when I was three we had a black cocker named Barney.... with the goo goo googly eyes.
Don't recall much except a vivid memory of the yip and the bump then seeing what remained of the dog as he was asleep behind a rear tire of my Dad's Dodge.

My first dog a mutt pup I found in my neighborhood, don’t know where he came from or his breed but he did look a bit like a fox. I named him Rebel, lived 18 yrs and was brought inside only when the temps got extreme.
