What’s for dinner?

All my wife told me is to make sure there is plenty of gas left in the BBQ tank. To me that means Porterhouse, Filet Mignon, or NY Sirloin. I know she just ran out to get some last minute sides.

Right now I am busy looking up some Egg Nog recipes.... :)

I can give you a few ideas infusing egg nog into dishes--everyone says mine are great no matter what idea I come up with? Never had any returns or throwaways.:D

Well at your age it's good not to have to chew to much............. watch out for those 3 ghosts tonight!!!!!!

:D

Tonight..........................
Going to broil some small lobster tails, along with bacon wrapped filets; baked potato on the side........ .....glass or two of Riesling...

for tomorrow we go to the In-laws!!!!!
It does appear that my Christmas-Eve dinner will be the least substantial of the bunch. :o There are some real super-mega-feasts being described here. :) What a country! :D

As for those three pesky ghosts... they already came the other night. It's an annual thing in the TTSH household. ;)

Tonight Mom and I are going to Gringos for tex-mex. Tomorrow we will be having ham from Logans Farm Honey glazed Hams and smoked turkey from Rudy's BBQ. I will put together some au gratin 'taters and green beans for sides and we have a Marie Callendars chocolate silk pie for dessert.

I got myself a Fitbit this year and lately I have been pushing myself to walk more. I usually put in 7 to 8 miles a day between work , walking the dogs and adding another couple miles by myself. This is the first year I have lost weight over the holidays. I am down 6lb in the last six weeks. Yay, me!

We are slumming it compared to some of you.
(Filet Mignon and King Crab !!!!) Sounds Yummy MORSNO !!
But you are in Alaska so that's cheating on the King Crab !!:D:D

We are having a spiral ham, pulled pork, to make sammiches.
Of course there will be any number of side dishes and LOTS
of Desserts !!

We cooked a big ole meal for Thanksgiving so the kids wanted
something less formal for Christmas and suggested we get a
lot of pizzas. I nixed that idea. Cold pizza ain't cutting it for me.

Regardless of what you all are eating, Have a wonderful Christmas
with whoever you are with and don't forget the military members
sitting in a bunker somewhere eating c-rats

Still have plans to smoke a couple of Cornish hens and a ham, garlic mashed potatoes and I have to have some turnip greens. Just the wife and I this year so I can feast on the sweet potato pie.

We do Christmas eve with the family. Normally the wife makes lasagna. But this year I got a 11 lb. prime rib for 6 adults and 1 child so Christmas day my wife and I will just do leftovers and relax. After I finish installing a hot water heater that went south Christmas eve morning at 1:30 am.

All my kids came by with our grandchildren last night, Christmas Eve. I made "The feast of 7 fishes" and a family recipe lasagna. Since it's just me,Mrs.RSBH44 and her Mom here for Christmas dinner, we'll cook a small ham, mashed coliflower , roasted home grown butternut squash and biscuits with buckwheat honey, and of course sweet potato pie for desert!

Bob, well at least It's a DIY project for you. Me I'd be paying for a plumbers first born college education. Merry Christmas..

Pretty much what we had to do. We had a gas water heater, second in the house , go out after it made 30 years (yeah, I know!). With all the code changes it cost us $1300 to get the new one in and compliant. I am guessing that the salt based water softener is what got the long life on the previous one.

Old Bear: Fred, get a bigger pan. I darned near jumped in the car yesterday morning. Unfortunately, common sense prevailed. I hate it when that happens.
