What's on your automotive "bucket list?"

Thought of another one I'd love to have, which will furnish you guys with more proof that I'm (a) easy, and (b) probably insane. I'd love to have an all-original, clean-as-a-pin 1965 (or thereabouts) VW beetle. I owned three beetles and a Karmann-Ghia at various times back in the day, and loved every one.

You don't drive one of the old ones, you wear it.

And work on it.....and push it....and tow it.....:D:D:D

I had a 64 and a 72 at the same time. Sometimes, they would run!

I'm saving up for a HUDSON PICKUP. Do you any of you AZ guys recognize this location?
It didn't come out well in this photo, but there is an INDIAN MOTORCYCLE sign across the street.

JJEH- not like that one. mine was a notchback, turquoise with black vinyl roof. I don't think any of the k code cars had automatics in them. I like that one in the pics a lot. if I hadn't already ordered a new vette I would be seriously tempted. I like the looks of it. as an aside, I drove the k code car to indy in 70 and got to drive a lap with the mustang corral guys. max speed was supposed to be 40mph but you know how that goes.

I never had one of my three VW beetles or the Karmann Ghia fail. Not once. But they were sure easy to work on if you did have trouble.

Checked off #1 on my list

I am very, very fortunate to have checked off number one on my all time list - a Mustang. In 2011, I bought a new Mustang GT 5.0 Premium - I had my midlife crisis a few years early, don'tchaknow.

It has a little over 8100 miles to date. It gits a little dusty out'chere on the prairie, but still cleans up very nicely. I just take it easy on the dirt roads.

Yes, it's a six speed with a stick. No automatic/new-fangled transmission!

Always loved Pontiacs.
I want a'67 GTO, 400 High Output with a 4 speed and a hood tach.
My second favorite is a bit different:
A '69 Grand Prix SJ 428 390 horse with 4 speed and, of course, that really cool hood tach.

We can dream, can't we, John?:D
Jim
Jim,
I no longer have a car bucket list.

The publishing firm that I worked for had several Motor Vehicle Dealerships. We also maintained a company museum of cars, mostly GM Performance A bodies of the 60s and 70s. GTOs were the favorite of our CEO

This yellow GTO was always one of my favorites to take out and play with.

One of the pluses of my position is that I spent 15 years buying 200+ cars for the collection.

Here is a picture outside the museum with a 57 Chevy Dual Quad convertible in the front

Here are some shots of the inside of the Museum building

Here are a few of buildings where I stored the cars that were not on display. I had 83,000 square feet of cars. It was sweet.

When our CEO passed away his son had me sell the collection. At that time we had 57 GTOs. There was at least one hardtop and convertible of every year of production.

I did a goodbye drive of each and every car just before it was loaded onto the transport going to it's new owner.

I'd be interested in hearing more about this great-looking Camaro. Engine? Trans? Any mods?

Thanks,
Andy

Yes, sir; I'd say you have a few modifications there. Thanks for posting this.

the cobra is awsome , id bet that daytona has a HUGE blindspot. but id still love to try one out!

To quote from Gumball Rally; "The first rule of Italian driving: (Rips rear view mirror from mount) What is behind you, is of no importance."

I've owned a fair number of cool rides over the years but I don't want to relive any of them. I'm thoroughly enjoying driving and building up the '66 Tbird I bought last year, got plans in the works for more mods and improvements. And we love the '08 Audi TT we got for my wife this spring. The bad weather cars are a Jeep Wrangler and a Saab sedan, both good cars in their own rights. The only thing I'd like to get one day is an old school hot rod roadster, any Ford from '23 to '32 with just about any engine except a small block chevy. Those cars make me swoon.

For me I liked cars from the late 1920s through about 1940. I did like some up to 1957 but for my taste there hasn't been much built since then that turned me on. I have only bought one new car in my lifetime, a 2007 toyota avalon. I bought it strictly for road trips and I have very few miles on it. While its a fine handling car and gets good gas mileage, I by far would rather drive my trucks. I can get in and out of them easier. Years ago I drove large old luxury cars like a 64 cad coup deville, 1992 lincoln mark VII etc. I have always liked my trucks best.
