Another that comes to mind is: Wooly Bully. Yep, you guessed it, I watched Full Metal Jacket, again last night.

Most of you all probably never heard this one: Kill For Peace by the FUGS.

I have the Fugs "Golden Filth" album somewhere. Kinda funny when you put it on at a party at 3AM and someone actually listens to the words, then they get a strange look on their face. If you've heard them, you know what I mean, if you haven't....well then there is no explaining it.

"Napalm rotisseries cooked the world a meal."

Even though it came out just after the war ended it takes me back to that time

Billy don't be a hero

"Billy, don't be a hero, Don't be a fool with your life
Billy, don't be a hero, Come back and make me your wife
And as he started to go, she said, 'Billy keep your head low'
Billy, don't be a hero, Come back to me."

Even though several of the CCW songs were from after I was in Vietnam, when I hear them it brings me back to that time. But if I had to pick one song it would be the same named by many others, "We've Got to Get Out of This Place". We often had bands from Korea or other Asian nations that would sing American songs even if the singers themselves didn't speak any English. The one that always got the biggest reaction was the "We've got to get out of this place". Everyone would sing along, and often yell out the number of days remaining in their tour. I remember being totally depressed early in my tour when sitting in some crappy club in Bin Hoa and hearing this song, and guys yelling out "22" and "48" and I'm thinking, "330". Sometimes now I look back at that year with nostalgia, but at the time it was the worst year of my life.

The Marmalade, Reflections of my life. Just missed the draft, just made the ensuing registration for the draft. Got PDQ'd and all of a sudden staring the retirement beast in the face..
