Where's Sipowicz?

We didn't remove the image. The posted link to another site is no longer valid...

This was the closest thing I could find...

Don't know how close this is to the original, but one of the problems with blonde jokes is that you often have to explain them to certain individuals.

OK, we’re getting closer. I do remember the picture with the caption, but I don’t remember writing much after that. I’m glad I could cause a little drama on this board. It’s been a while since I’ve been here. Anyway, hello all you guys, Lee, Chad, and everybody!

Oh, those were the days. :D
My favorite has to be the March 14 episode.
carry on. ;)

Sipowicz,

Happy to see you back!

I too have no recollection of the Epi-pen thread, but I do understand "gallows humor" very well. Many professions have stories/memories regarding their profession, police, fire, doctors, lawyers, ambulance men, morticians, that can be extremely upsetting to those who hear the stories but do not understand the context from which they came.

Why those people cannot realize that they do not understand a joke/story does not give them permission to "flame" the person who told it! Why can't they simply keep their mouths shut!!!

Again, glad to see Sip is back, I always have greatly appreciated and enjoyed posts from my current or former brothers who have been or still are "on the job"!

I do recall being at a continuing legal ed conference about 20 years or so ago. It was all prosecutors and some were from small enough counties that we served as ex officio coroner. While test tasting certain adult beverages, we ran everyone else off the roof due to our rough humor. Prosecuting bad folks and going to death calls tends to buff off the veneer of civilization and couth.

I haven't worn the badge for a bunch of years, but that is how we cope.

There's stuff that never leaves you.

You guys are great! Nice to be back. And I can sure use the support right now as I have a Big problem in my kitchen. My dishwasher stopped working.

I still don’t know what I said to make her walkout!

Probably something about God giving her short feet so she can get closer to the sink?

How many times have some of you gotten to a death scene and one of the first things someone does is pick up the wrist with a watch on it to check and see if it's still working? If it's still working one person will say, "takes a licking" and then someone else will finish it with, "keeps on ticking".

Sip lives in Palisade, CA. He and his family are OK. His kids school was partially damaged, and two of his schoolmates lost their homes.

Thanks for all the kind thoughts fellas. Actually I am about 7 miles east of the Pallisadesnand we are ok. But everyone is affected by such devastation. I just put my kid in another school. his is not fully burned down, but the area is a wasteland. Gonna be a long recovery out here.

Some folks have no sense of humor and are easily offended. I always thought Sip. was a funny guy that could make you smile or break out into an occasional chuckle.

I worked a lot of years in busy ERs, we had some morbid humor that many would find offensive, but it helped us to get through a bad shift. Same thing in VN. Sometimes the humor was morbid, but then it usually was not a nice place anyway.

Since the show NYPD Blue was referenced in the thread I feel comfortable mentioning the Sharon Lawrence has a recurring role in the series "Joe Pickett" and she is hotter than ever. Talk about a woman who has aged magnificently!!
