Which vehicle would you choose if you could only have one?

Lived with one of these the past 6 years. (diesel, great off-road and end of the world machines, not too shabby from a performance standpoint. :))

Would like to have one of these:

My Silverado is a 2010 (cost-3 batteries, 2 thermostats and a set of tires in that time) so I figure 1 more vehicle in this lifetime. Lots of locals and coworkers have 4 door, 2 and 4 wheel drive Toyota Tacomas. I think a 4 door short bed 2 wd with a V6 and auto trans would be perfect to take me to the end of the road. Nothing fancy. Joe

Count me as another vote for FoMoCo's peerless Panther platform, the Crown Vic/Grand Marquis. I've owned a number of them, at present I have a 2001 Vic P71 and a Grand Marquis LSE. If I could have only one car I'd take a low mileage Grand Marquis LS, or even better a Marauder.

Good to hear from a kindred spirit. Mine is black and well known in town as Batmobile #2.

Looks like a good choice.... but truth is SHTF you've "Got to love the one you're with"

2016Nissan Frontier Pro-4X with off-road package; Crew Cab, short bed w/ARE cap....10" of ground clearance with 3 skid plates. and still a body on frame real truck ..........

Will get me to the Cabin or Lake in the Laurel Highlands..... if I can get across the Allegheny River ..... which once you get out of "The Burgh" proper....... doesn't have a whole lot of bridges...........................

anything else will be a "Battle Field Pick Up*"!!!!!!!!!!!

:D

*(pun intended)

I'll keep it simple, a M151A2 FAV. I still understand the mechanics of a vehicle from that era. For most of the vehicles you mention shortly after the Check Engine light came on and stayed on I'd be walking.

My other choice would be a 1985 F-150 with the 300 six and a manual trans. You can't kill them.

Besides my Powerstroke I have a 2001 Mercury Marquis and a 1999 Lincoln Town car, both have a little over 100,000 miles on them, 4.7 V8 motors get 22 miles to the gallon even cruising at 80 and are nice comfortable rides. Plus, a normal guy could change stuff like the alternator and stuff with no big hassles. They get around pretty well in the winter to, both having traction control.
