Who else is looking forward to "HELL ON WHEELS" tonight.

I felt quilty liking Deadwood" but two old time buddies had bit parts..I understand Butch Kirby even was a sub writer on one epasode..T=Bone and Haweye had bit appearences in one show and I guess did some background work......We are all getting old. Darn I'm older than the rest....How time flies...As to the new show mentioned I have only seen the trailers....What channel????
 
I was disappointed in the premier in that it was slow, more unrealistic (if possible) than any of the earlier shows and not as violent (not that I like westerns with violence, of course, but if there ain't none, I don't watch 'em).

And the incredible number and length of the commercials on AMC makes me almost always record the shows so I can fast-forward through the stupid things.

I hope it gets back on track so to speak, otherwise, I will drop it.

I caught the second episode last night. Quite an improvement over the first, I thought. You just knew whats-his-name would be back. One of the most despicable baddies I have seen in a while; by a person who seems gifted at it. The violence, and cruelness portrayed for that time-frame is likely close to being real, and, maybe even more tame.
 
I love the show, but I wish they'd find other rifles to use than bright, shiny Henry reproductions. The brass receivers practically glow in the dark - no patina, factory fresh from Italy. Seems like everybody and his brother use them in the show, even the "Indians." I suspect a few months of hard use in the wild would have them looking pretty grungy. Just a small irritation, but annoying.

Never saw it before so I tried it last week and last night...I just can't get into it. Why does that woman have those marks on her chin? Really distracting.
 
I must have missed something along the way...what happened to Durant's wife Hanna ( I think that is her name)? Was she killed in the raid?

I hope the theme of this season becomes clearer soon.
This show is starting to remind me of the afternoon soap opera's, what with all the plot twists, actors staring at each other,new people waltzing in and out (the dead irshmans brudder).
I will say "the swede"'s part last year makes for some interesting tv this yr. every time they do a part with him an the Mormon family,, I find my self thinking...he'll start killing ....NOW!!! but nutin yet. and if he is traveling with a Mormon Family aren't they headed away from the train??
 
Durant's wife is probably looking for a good divorce attorney after he got thrown in prison...if you could call his cell a prison cell.

As far as the Swede...well, he was wearing the Mormons hat..guess we'll have to turn in next week to find out where the previous owner ended up....
