Did somebody say "pocket rocket?"

Is the holster one of Ray's ([email protected])?

Pocket rockets and single stack 9's are all the rave now days. Many folks feel content with a pocket 380 for carry like an lcp, bodyguard, Kel Tec, ect.

The single stack 9's are going like hot cakes now. The sheild, LC9, karh, beretta nano, walther pps to name a few.

My edc is a G19 in a supertuck and I've never had a problem with it! I browse on some other gun forums and see so many say a fullsize or compact gun is just to big or thick, I want something tiny or smaller that's comfortable to carry.

Last time I checked carrying a gun isn't Spose to be comfortable but comforting! As for me I like the bigger guns because I shoot them better and they don't lack capacity compared to the single stacks. I'd rather have more rounds on my side plus more rounds in my reloads than than what these tiny guns offer.

Another thing that gets me is folks worrying about printing! I have many story's regarding printing, my shirt riding up on my pistol, people bumping into me saying sorry I hit your cell phone ect.

I'm convinced general society is lost in there own little world and are to stupid to realize you have a gun.

Your thoughts?

As usual the thread has been derailed:) See the above original post. It is about low capacity magazines of less rounds. The OP is content with a G 19 which holds what 15 rounds or so of 9mm, We are not talking caliber.

First we all know than 9mm is useless and there is no sense in even ducking as they just bounce off. So why have more of a useless caliber??

Based on capacity, throw away all of you beloved 5 or 6 shot revolvers as they are not up to the task of engaging in a "firefight".
I personally use the "duck and cover" that worked so well in school. We had no A- bombs strike us so it must work. If you put a jacket over your head you are also cloaked so no one will see you.:D

I'm extremely lucky and live in an area that is very, very quiet. I drive to town every now and then and it ain't much different there than it is out here. If I go to town in the morning I usually carry a M37. If I go late in the evening or at night I usually carry a M65 .357. I do own a "tiny gun". I have had a couple of Raven .25's along the way and sold them back to their original owners although I had nothing against the guns or their owners. I recently traded 40 bucks worth of Japanese junk for a Colt 1908 vest pocket .25 that was built in 1922. I can't believe how nice that tiny little gun feels in my hand. It is now my official gettin' the mail gun. I can hit very well with it using Blazer .25 FMJ at 21 feet. I personally would not want to get shot with that sucker. I feel kinda cool carrying a 90 year old beauty around. Maybe I could start sleeping with it and it could be my "bed BUG"..............nah
Peace,

I carry a G19/17 SW5946 and a HK USP9 (not all at one time) I sold off all my little guns (PPS and Kahr CW9) after I finally realized that a real gun belt and a real holster are actually worth the money I wasnt willing to spend. Once I got a Crossbreed IWB and a real gun belt the weight was no longer an issue. My pants wernt falling off, and there was no discomfort. In fact I carry full size gun everywhere but at home, even in the summer when it gets hot and humid, it doesnt bother me. I can conceal full size guns no problem with an IWB holster, Im 6ft, 165lbs and wear form fitting clothes.

I disagree about the whole "gunfight is 2.8 sec so why do I need 18 rounds" True most of us will never be in or even close to a gun fight where we need that many bullets but I'd rather have em and not need them then need and not have. The same can be said for the 8 round single stack 9s. If the avg gun fight is 2.8 sec then all you really need is a 2 shot Derringer. After all thats about all you'll get to shoot in under 3 seconds. You never need it...untill you need it

At your height and weight you could conceal anything. I'm 5' 10" and weigh 265. I can't do the IWB thing, far too uncomfortable. I carry a 642 "J" frame loaded with Speer 125 gr Gold Dot +P, with a pocket holster. I carry 5 extra rounds if needed.

I have a few carry guns.
My main 2 are my Colt Delta Elite and my Kel Tec P-11.
My P11 is my work gun, where I am not supposed to have one.
The Delta is my normal carry pistol.
I also have a pair of Combat Masters that are worked into the rotation depending on dress.
Carry what you can.
Just try to always carry.
Try to avoid having to use a gun, but if you NEED one... then you damn well better have one.

I've seen a shooting scene where 70 plus shots were fired by a store owner and a perp standing on opposite sides of a store shelving unit....no one got a scratch.

I have a feeling that is a statistical outrider especially when dealing with gun battles involving non-police in situations other than military operations.

I used to carry a Walther PP and never worried about it. I bought a Model 38 to carry and I'm not going to worry about it.

I read about guys who carry two guns everyday and 50 rounds of ammo and work out of their homes. If you are that concerned about getting into a firefight you should be carrying an AR-15 with five or six loaded mags.

I sometimes carry my Delta and 3 spare mags, and my P-11 with a spare mag.
Thats 33 rounds of 10mm and 25 rounds of 9mm.
I sometimes have to work alone in some bad areas.
I cant carry a rifle on me, my 16" .45-70 is in the truck.
I aim to make it home every chance I get.
Your mileage may vary.

Normally I carry a Colt Commander. Sometimes a 3" Model 13. However, small guns do have their place. Years back when I was working with the Boy Scouts I often found myself going into some of the "less popular" areas at night and alone. Let me tell ya, there is no good or comfortable way to carry much of anything in a properly worn Scout uniform. Even a J-frame in the pocket stuck out like a sore thumb and soon became quite a nuisance.
Bear in mind this was long before the invention of today's "pocket rockets". So I opted for a PSP-25.
Yeah, laugh if you want. But I could make consistant head shots at 15 feet, it was totally reliable and it was a darned sight better than harsh language. ;)

Everything in life is a trade off to whatever suits you. Were it legal how many would carry grenades? There has to be a balance between real world odds and full out paranoia. I seldom carry in my area. If we drive out of town I always have something in the car that I can slip in my pocket. Its usualy a old model 40. I own many larger caliber revolvers and a 45 auto. They get carried several days a week on the trails. The novelty wore off for me almost 50 years ago. I have always liked guns and had to carry them for over 35 years but I just never enjoyed the extra weight and the heavy uniform belts. Even on the trails rideing the ATV I seldom open carry because I can get to it pretty quick in my bag ahead of my handlebars. Now if I lived in bagdad -----

I usually carry a 38 ultralite j frame with a 5 shot speed loader, but when I can I carry a springfield 45, and when I can't do either of those I have a 38 2 shot derringer belly gun, and there is always a loaded rifle in my pickup. what am I afraid of...............not a damn thing. I just live in the sticks were the mexicans are growing all their weed, funny thow they don't seem to bother the locals much, they just kind of stay out of sight.

I read the other day that a instructor at Jeff Cooper's school "
No compact anything, caliber, make, or model, semi has made it though my course (300 rounds self defense) without problems."

I think the small Revolver in .38+P might be the best way to
go.

The advantage of the baby guns is that you always have them with you. Yeah, I would rather have a 1911 in a fight, but my PF9 is always in my right front pocket with 8 rounds of +P. I've run across too many "armchair ninjas" who run their mouth about "I wouldn't carry that popgun" but they aren't carrying anything at all in the real world. If you are dedicated, then the bigger guns are better, but most folks aren't. That's why J frames, baby nines etc exist, so you can always have one one you.

I know a lot of people with a CCW and firearms they intended for that use, but the only ones I know who almost always have a firearm with them have it in their pocket.

If you just get one of each size/cal then you can dress in anything between a speedo and a tuxedo and always have the "right gun"
