Well, in the R.P they are patriotic, and love their country regardless of its faults and are not taught that their country is evil and that other Pinoy's are bad and racist. And while there is a lot of violence its not random- its directed.
They learn Christian based ethics in school from a early age they respect their parents and elders. And are taught right from wrong, good from the bad- in school and from their families. They were not taught to try to get something for nothing.
They did not "Spare the rod and spoil the child." As medieval as that sounds now it seems to have worked
They believe in their traditional culture and think that the Pinoy way of life is good. Their is corruption but there also is the rule of law and it is fast and swift in most cases.
I was there in martial law times and there were guns but not as many as now the bad guys always had them of course. Citizens were at the mercy of the bad people the criminals who got illegal guns and used them. I am glad the good citizens now have the right to bear arms as free people.
Martial arts were serious stuff FMA,CMA and JMA. I knew a Chinese man who speared a robber who was trying into bust into his Chinatown building. I knew a Arnis guy who had his fingers chopped off in a sword fight. Martial arts was all the regular guy had for self defense- so many were into it..
They do have cases of ''Amok" but its rare.
If you insult someone, a insult is given, there won't be a lot of talking someone will be on the ground very fast and might not get up. They don't talk a lot when they feel wronged.
Mass killing for nothing would be waling hiya "without shame" no honor- a despicable cowards action and even a crazed person in the R.P. would be repulsed by that.
There are NPA/Islamic terrorist actions but those are political directed.
Not saying is has not happened or won't happen but it is very rare. (Random shooting.)
That's that old way in the islands from 40 plus years ago I'm sure it has changed a lot now and probably not for the better. jmho
