Would You Pay $450 For This, And Why Or Not?

Yes, I would have bought it. I need another model 28 like I need another hole in my head, but of course that wouldn't have stopped me. The cokes would of course be safe fodder. I really do need to thin the 28 pile some. Revolver safe is already packed full and another one is on the way. Oh, the pain.

RE-BLUED IN THE PAST???

Kind of hard to tell with 1 pic, send more.:D Seriously, as said for the grips alone, the rest is gravy. The lettering on the bbl has me wondering about a re-blue job in the past??? Would a re-blue have stopped me from a wallet quick-draw, NOPE. If that condition is original,+++. nice score! :)

Short answer "NO". I know very little about Highway Patrolman...... I removed the grips on the 6" revolver and while putting them away, (should I find the right 1950's hand ejector revolver they should be on),

Model 39 that was a great score, VG instincts and perfect example of being at the right place at the right time,
Now for the bad news, finding the correct gun for those Coke stocks aint gonna be as easy on the wallet unless the shop you found the HP at doesnt know what an early Model 29 or Pre 29 is worth either.

Congrats !

I was happy to buy this 1 off of G.B. around 6 yrs. ago for $475 shipped. (no dash, S2011xx, 1960) It came with Pachmayr grips. Those came off immediately. Has worn many stocks since then. Only a few pictured. Current are S&W Diamond Targets, purchased by my Dad for another gun in the early 60's. Bob

Back around 1970, maybe 1971, I bought a new Model 28 for about $120, but I didn't keep it very long before I sold it. For some reason, I could just never warm up to it. Too big and clunky. I am still not particularly fond of N-frames, but I do have two of them.

That gun is refinished and the grips are Chinese knock offs. You got hosed. But since I need a shooter, I'll give you what you paid for it.
PM me.
