Right Mike?? ;) To compliment my 6906 I picked up from "SpeedGunner" on the forum this year, I just bought this "New Old Stock" 4013TSW this past week. :):):):):) Christmas came early!

It was made in 1997. Serial #MSE2001, which was the first run of these. The first 2 years of this TSW were rail-less. Just what I (needed) wanted. Came with box and doc's. Is a third one down the road? I hope you enjoy the pictures!!

I love the 4013TSW and have owned two. Just down to one now but shes a great carry. Shes also ate everything Ive put in here with no heartburn.

If your a southpaw, you do know you can change the mag release to the other side right? Ive written a how too here if needed.

Here's my favorite carry gun - made a little before yours, 11/12/96. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine!

It's really not considered a problem until you have multiples of the same model.

Or until you can re-create the S&W 3rd gen model wheel with actual guns!

Multiples of the same model :confused:Oh,you mean like these..:)

:) Just mixing it up a bit! The revolvers are beginning to wonder in the safe! They may start shooting straighter next time out! I DO have one that has a "27" on it!! ;)

Sal, in case you missed it...here is the 6906.

Rags that is a nice one. I predict you will buy more. I didn't own one a while back and now I have six 3rd gen. autos.

Just curious-The Glock G23 was terrible to shoot-only pistol that ever hurt my trigger finger and the "snappyness" was pretty bad. I sold it but often wondered how a S&W in that caliber would be better?

Haven't shot mine yet but it does have an inner and an outer recoil spring which may help. We'll see...

Hey rags, Nice piece, great pics as per usual from you. Love the prop rods, the caliber on the prop rod even matches the caliber of the gun ! Very cool !!! Shoo ;)

ladder,

If a 45 is next for you, you might shoot for one of these:

I warn you though, if you break into the Performance Center guns, you'll be sorry! That one will put a full mag into a group that will hide completely behind a US quarter at 20 yards.

Sure :D where can I find one?

Do not BUY the S&W Wheel of wonder , you will find yourself trying to buy every model on it . I did until the wife put a stop to my (in)sanity .

P.S. these pics hurt for some reason I do not have a 3rd gen 45 in my collection .

Anyone have one of those Wheels? Wouldn't mind having one. I have looked at one before but not sure where...And it was long ago!

Anyone have one of those Wheels?

I do, sitting in my gun room. I plan on putting it up for "bid" here as a fundraiser for this forum.

I really like my S&W 5904. Bought in 88-9 new. Carried it when I needed to and now pretty often as I carry all the time. It has never jammed. Shoots great and feels good.
Recently, after finally getting my CCW, I filed the rear tang to smooth out the sharp points and am thinking of doing more around the magazine release.
I often hear that in trials this gun did not do as well as some others but for me this is a good gun. On occasion I read about all these SIG's that are so wonderful or XD's or Glocks and start thinking I need one but economic reality wakes me up. Besides, I see no reason to part with my 5904.
Sorry about no picture. I am working on that.

"I often hear that in trials this gun did not do as well as some others but for me this is a good gun."

That's not true. If your speaking of the original military test, the 5904 did very well. The Sig P226 and Beretta 92F did better with the selection going to Beretta because of the lower cost.

Yes, the 5904 did very well.

Hmm.... I have three 4566's.........but I can quit anytime I want!! ;)

Hmm...seems I need to correct my previous posting..does two 4013TSW's count ?

rags,
That's a FINE looking firearm you've got there!
You may be in for quite a ride. I've only got the one, but I'm
feeling strange urges these days; it won't be long 'til I give in.

Thanks TACC1. My problem was that I have a safe full of revolvers but didn't really know that much about S&W Semi's. IT"S ALL LEE'S FAULT!!! ;) This is a really good place to learn of such things!

The members here have been such a great help to me, filling my knowledge hole in my brain, it's hard to miss a day! I might miss something.

What you guys may or may not believe is I never HAD a problem spending $$$$!!!:eek::eek: I don't need that kind of help...;)
