I was at the range the other day with a friend and is wife, We were shooting my model 17/19/624/629/686, He also has a 63/617/686 Colt Anaconda in 44 mag, and a sig ?226? with .22 conversion kit, and then near the end of our playtime he pulls out a Glock ?# in 40 S&W, He shot it a bit and then asked if I wanted to,, I declined politely saying that if I shot it I would never be able to say "I never shot a Glock"

I've fired one before. I don't see the big deal about it other than the fact that its ugly......

I wish I could say that. I even owned one. Once. :(

Me too, my kid loves his and talked me into getting a 10mm. Besides having the world's lousiest trigger, it just does not feel like a gun. I sold it in about a week.

Then the chamber is so damn big that it ruins brass. I understand that you can buy a good barrel for it but I like guns that come with a usable barrel.

I guess it's OK if you want something to carry around and never shoot.

The joke's not on Glock and their "plastic" guns. Just like Ford tractors, they were years ahead of their time. Now every major manufacturer makes "plastic" guns. Mine is just like this only all black. I love it.

Sir you are missing out on some great guns. Ugly, yes but very functional and accurate.

My first Glock was a M17 9mm and I hated it for the first few times I took it out. After I got used to the trigger and feel now I love them. My carry gun is the M26 baby 9mm. It always goes boom, eats whatever I feed it and if I do my part always hits the target. Plus it is so damned ugly if I scratch it or drop it no big deal its not like you can make it any uglier.

I bought my first Glock when clintoon and crew was making a big deal about them. You know like going through a metal detector without being seen and all that other non sense.

For the record, I concur Glock's are fine weapons. Many a peace officer puts their life on the line each day while using a Glock on duty, and off duty as well. I would feel plenty confident if it was all I had to defend myself. I just don't like em'!

:D

Yeah, my G17, G19, G22, G31 and G21 pistols are real pains. In fact, all the Glocks that I've owned and shot since my first one in 1992 have been a real pains. I load them, shoot them and clean them now and again. They go bang every time, they never failure to function and make small groups . . . geez, what a pain. Now, the triggers do take a little getting use to, but once I started squeezing them like a DA revolver, the groups got real small.

I still prefer my twenty-three S&W pistols (I like collecting pistols with soul), but give the Glocks their due.

I only have four Glocks, all in 9mm. I like them, think they are excellent pistols for the money.

Although I won't ever own or shoot a Glock, I am glad they are so popular. The rush to plastic auto's has made so many fine Smiths' available that I owe a big Thank you to Gaston Glock.

pred you ain't missing nothing..
I had one of the first Glocks in the country back in 1987 & traded it for a SIG P228 at the time..
I've owned a few more over the last 20+ years but am now down to just a small handfull of revolvers..
One of these days I "MIGHT" own a Glock26.. Maybe??
The triggers aren't that good on the Glocks even with a 3.5 connector but they are made to be treated like trash & keep on ticking, Maybe keep it in the shower in a zip lock baggie.
I wouldn't do that to ANY Revolver out of respect for thier greatness..
Keep an eye out for another set of those "Headknocker" K/L Frame Square Butt Stocks like the ones your 686 wears pred
Thanks!!

Hi, my name is Jeff and I own a Glock.

I appreciate my glock for what it is, but it is by far my favortite pistol to shoot. Although if I'm looking for a gun to drag around the woods, mud, and rivers it will be my Glock 22.

They are what they are; they are ugly, accurate enough and generally go bang every time the trigger is pulled. No, they are not as pretty as nice, blued S&W revolver, but then again, who cares if your Glock gets scratched or beat to hell. I probably have a dozen of the damn things around, they serve their purpose well.

I held a Glock once. Came home, cut my hand off, ran it thru the dishwasher on pots and pans cycle, sewed it back on. I'm OK now...

Hmm, noticed 2 things while posting this reply: 1) Glock is underlined like it's a misspelled word (forum dictionary doesn't recognize it?), 2) the word "Glock" isn't in the tags at the bottom of this thread. I think these tags are automatically added by the forum software?.

Just inane comments and observations...
