M&P 15-22 Picture Thread

MikesGun-W800.jpg
Had it just over two months and can't stop buying things for it. Got the wife a new camera to feel better about my spending and she made this for me.

Blury pic , but this is what it looks like so far.

I have already traded the barrel out with a guy to get the untreaded version and I'm looking into either pinning the stock (not my first choice) or changing it for the Magpul PRS version.

The PRS is cool, but mounts on a pistol buffer tube. It won't work with our 15-22s. You can use a Magpul ACS, MOE or CTR, but no PRS or UBR.

I'm not so sure of that, if everything I have found out to date is right the tube molded into the receiver is the right diameter but has a rib molded into the bottom of it.
I'm not averse to the idea of cutting or sanding that rib off and either lengthening or shortening the tube if that's what it takes.
The only other obstruction is that the PRS has a 'tab in front that fits into a recess in the AR lower to prevent it from rotating on the tube. I have checked my lower and I believe that there is enough material in that area to allow a bit of Dremel tool work to make a recess. If that doesn't work I can always substitute a pin epoxied into the stock or receiver to do the same job.

where did you get that cover by the mag?

I'm sorry I didn't see your post earlier; don't get to drop by often enough.

It is a Mako as shown a couple of posts down.

It does take a little filing on the inside of the Mako grip to make it fit correctly, but its no big job. Takes about 10 minutes to do.

Guess I'll end my lurking streak by posting a picture of my MOE.

I'm looking for rail covers for my 15-22. I like those in the pic, can anybody identify the type for me? Thanks. Also, didn't realize we could swap out the stock as it appears to be molded to the receiver.

Some rifles, called 'compliant', have the butt stock permanently 'fixed' in position in order to avoid being classified as 'assault weapon's' in some states like NY, MD, and CA.
Compliant rifles also come without the threaded barrel and flash suppressor. Another no no in many states.
If you have one of those the only way your going to be able to have a green butt stock is with a bit of spray paint.
