Wanna hear a funny fact: the plural of a computer mouse is either mice or mouses. Both are correct.

Me just learnt this :D

Actually it's add "es" to any word-ie: pantses, ghostses,
As in "Pull up your pantses so you can run if the ghostses comes after you."
Since we are delving into grammer-how many know how to conjugate the verb "To Be".?
Answer:
Singular:
I be
you be
he be
Plural:
We be
y'all be
they be
Counselor, I like the way you adjudicated that verb.

I don't really like making two extremely short sentences, which I guess is what you intended to do. (The period after "knives" makes me think that, but the lack of a capital "N" makes me wonder. Also, no comma is needed after "not" in what is, I guess, your second sentence, nor is one needed after "is" in your first sentence.

It is "knives." Not "knifes."

I kind of like short sentences to give emphasis. But I would have followed up thusly.

It is "knives." Not "knifes." "Knives."

Although I suppose that that particular style could conceivably come across as scolding. ;)

Some times reading these boards or listening to TV, I think that a lot of folks slept through sentence diagramming and verb tense drills.
