My 6906 is my home defense gun and it has everything I want in a semi auto but I gotta admit I'm not liking the lack of parts should I need them. Not selling right now but I am thinking about what would replace it. I like metal TDA with a safety and a mag disconnect

No Interest in selling. I don't think I would ever shoot the thousands & thousands of rounds needed to wear out any of my 3rd gens.Still think we are way ahead of some of the plastic models today even with the shortage of parts.

+1 on that. I've never had one break! Should I ever need a part I can't find I'll buy a shooter and use it for a donor...but I doubt I'll ever need to even do that. Besides, I have enough for a Texas reload or two.;)

I have a '95 F150 that I bought new - has about 120k miles and is in what us older guys call "cherry" condition. When a random part is needed that is no longer available through Ford I go to my trusty LMC catalog (or web site). There are various OEM and after market choices.

I suggest we need the same concept for non-production guns so that they can be maintained as the owners deems necessary.

I am going to shoot them until they start becoming unreliable.

I will find and replace springs as a need to.

Once a part breaks I will either pay for it or sell the gun.

Or if it becomes not reliable enough for carry or competition I will relegate it to a range gun.

Heh! I am going to shoot mine until I become unreliable. I've no doubts these guns will remain fully serviceable long after I'm gone. If anything really, I'm only a little bit concerned about magazine wear parts.

Anyway, there's still a couple 45 models I'd like to add to my meager collection. And besides, there's really nothing else out there in current or recent production from S&W or elsewhere that stacks up IMHO. Although that SAR K2 mentioned in another thread has caught my attention;)

Cheers
Bill

I'm not selling any other than to fund another in the rotation, but I hope there are owners that are concerned and selling at bottom basement prices due to lack of parts, wink wink. If they are concerned with not finding parts when needed that is fine. The only replacement parts that I have needed were my fault.
