After I rotated home, I bought a 1970 Hurst Olds 442. The gas crisis was in full swing so I started liberating avgas from the base motor pool. Went through three sets of Mickey Thompson L-60's and burned the valves down to pixie stix.

Like you, I couldn't afford the gas or tickets so I sold it. Boy, could she bark 'em off.:)
I had a 70 GTO and could keep the tires spinning thru all 4 gears. Thank you, 450 ft lbs of torque.. I put a set of Michelin radials on it at the cost of a 2 week's net pay. Went around corners like it was glued

A couple years ago, my boss let us borrow his W30 Olds 442 convertible. Pulling out of the restaurant after lunch, just had to put my foot clear down on 400 horses. Startled the Mrs. but it was fun hearing that roar again.

Guess I will pick oranges today,I have an orange tree that I have been keeping alive the last few years during the drought and it made nice oranges but they didn't get sweet so I left them on the tree to see if they would sweeten up but no luck. I have been told the tree may have to get older before they sweeten. Sure hope so it is a nice looking tree and is putting on a lot of new oranges along with the ones I left(maybe 100 left). Hoping for a nice Memorial Day for all.

It's Memorial Day in a tourist town.
Good time to stay home and clean up the office.
Which is better for things charging out of stacks of decaying debris, .357 Revolver, .44 Magnum revolver, .308 Rifle, or 20 Bore shotgun with slugs?
Geoff
Who notes he is a mite behind in his cleaning schedule.
Geoff
In tight corners, I'd go with .44 mag. Never know when a polar bear might charge from behind a stack of magazines. In open spaces, .308 will get the job done. Watch out for rabid penguins and squirrels. They could drift your way.

Good afternoon all!
Hoping everyone is having a great Memorial Day Weekend ;)

And to all of you that have served and to all that are serving,,,A big hearty Thank you! ;)

ral, I was out to Deep Creek Lake in 98 or 99. What a beautiful lake! ;)
We rented a house right on the lake and I had my own boat slip. I put the boat in the water the beginning of the week and didn't take it out until the end of the vacation?
Everything we did and everywhere we went we did so by boat.
I still go on their web page from time to time and can't believe how much the area has grown and changed since we were out there.
It was really a nice place and a great vacation!
