Looks like a great day in my neighborhood

Dreary wet morning here so far. Yesterday was a good day, grandson arrived, wandered around the flea markets some, went to work for a few hours, made some money, took son & grandson to the shooting range. Shot his H&K 40 cal, nice gun but I'll still stick with my wheel guns, Took turns shooting my Mod 66 and the
shudder Taurus and Browning Buckmark and 10/22 Ruger. Grandson had never shot a firearm before and was super excited to shoot the 10/22. He did fine, the gun not so much so. Gun show purchase not long ago, about half the time jams on 2nd shot, tried a brand new cylinder I had, same result. Good thing my son was there to un-jam it. Will try some better grade of ammo today but my general experience with 10/22s has been that they would shoot whatever you fed them. Last night remembered I had a Henry Survival 22 take down under the bed, will take that along today.

Sorry to drift away from the drift and actually talk about guns, imagine that!

Resume drifting

Its a great day here and it would be a great day at the strip!

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday at Englishtown Speedway
Ahhh remembering the days! WFIL radio was the one to listen to and Jungle Jim was always a favorite here at the Maple Grove Speedway!

What's the lowest price per gallon you can remember fueling those muscle cars with?

I managed a gun trade this weekend. I do enjoy the wheeling and dealing.

What did you get and what did you trade off? Just whisper in my ear and they won't notice.

I remember gas price wars at few cents under 30 cents a gallon but I was still in elementary school.

I didn't have a need to buy gas then, but I do remember it being .25/gallon. I remember something was .15 but it must have been kerosene. I started driving around 1971 and got in a few good years. When I was attending college 20 miles away there was often no gas at any price. Made for a tough commute.

Back when I had my 442 Sunoco 260 was selling for .50 cents a gallon at the pump, I was fortunate at the time I worked for a fuel dealer and was paying .39 cents a gallon at their pump. ;)
Sunoco 260 was the only thing my Olds would run good on!
I wish I had that Blend pump today! :)

Hey K22 I see what you're up to....trying to talk guns in the drift with no one noticing ..... I did gotcha!

By the time I bought my first car the desired vehicle was a Toyota Corolla. I bought the econo version with an 1100 cc engine. The engine well was sized for a 1600 cc so there was lots of room to swing a wrench around most most of the nuts. Full of youngsters the best it could do going up the mountain was 50 mph. On the good side it could be manually pushed fairly easily when needed and I didn't get a speeding ticket until after turning 30.
