...South of Naha the Mississippi (BB 41), steaming 2 miles astern of Louisville (CA 28) was hit around 1930 by two kamikazes. In spite of her age damage was slight. At 1932, the Louisville, also on fire support, was kamikazed on the port side in the vicinity of the well deck. Her plane and catapult were demolished, #1 stack was destroyed and four boilers were knocked out of commission. She anchored near Yolo around 2240. Fifty- four men were killed or wounded.

USS Mississippi (BB-41) bombarding Luzon, during the Lingayen operation, 8 January 1945. She is followed by USS West Virginia (BB-48) and HMAS Shropshire (73).

Arriving off Okinawa on May 6, 1945, USS Mississippi commenced firing on Japanese positions including Shuri Castle. Continuing to support Allied forces ashore, Mississippi took another kamikaze hit on June 5. This struck the ship's starboard side, but did not force it to retire. The battleship stayed off Okinawa bombarding targets until June 16.

USS Louisville CA-28

April 1945

USS Louisville returned to the war in May 1945 after repairs of damage sustained from two kamikaze strikes in Jan 1945. She was assigned to Task Force 54 to provide naval gunfire support during the Okinawa Campaign, where she was once again hit by a suicide aircraft on 5 Jun; after temporary repairs, she was back on the firing line by 9 Jun, but departed for Pearl Harbor for permanent repairs a week later. She was at Pearl Harbor when the war ended.

Sigh. Suddenly on the road a day early. Wife suddenly demanded departure due to an unleveled refrigerator. Resetting on level ground worked. Wife is in bed at 1730 hours leaving me to amuse myself.
RV Advantage if you combine the toilet and shower, your wife cannot load the shower with Stuff.
I will post this someday but my wifi point is just getting a charge. Sigh.
Stopped at a pleasant place in South Carolina. I need instructions on how to use the campground cable TV. I will dig out the fine manual later.
I tried using Solitare in Windows 10. It doesn't work without a MS account login, and I have no connection. Wordpad seems to be working but I haven't saved yet. I will try some MS Office 2016 components next. I OWN TWO <ed> copies.

I've said it before... I cannot afford "Natural" food items, I buy and eat mostly items from the unnatural food area of the grocery store. Food additives are a poor man's "Supplements".

Busy day today, Had to assist the Grandddaughter in feeding and watering the new turtle!
Then later it was get ready and go to granddaughters dance receitle! What a blast! she got a trophey, her whole class did for being the best dance class in 2016.
Went to a local Applebys for dinner, worse dinner I ever ate in one of these places! The meal stank as well as the service!
Then onto Dairy Queen for dessert because that's what the granddaughter wanted!
Busy day I'm tired,,,,time to kick back and drift!
