That pink note looks exactly like the one the dry cleaner gives me. I would like to know what it is but it could just as easily be completely irr

. In any event, we'll know eventually what the authorities want us to know..

John
THAT is the disturbing point for me.Total lack of anything I would consider reliable in the way of information. The way the newsheads were talking about "scoped" rifles you would think scopes will be on the next list of stuff to be banned because they allow shooting at greater distances. I really am pissed at the coverage on all sides.
What everyone seems to forget is that the shooter was an extremely sick individual andall anyone is spinning this to their political advantage whatever it may be and Quite frankly I'M SICK OF IT
Report the bloody news and let the people decide what to make of it!

Strikes me that this kind of comment is assuming a conspiracy that isn't there.

My body language would also be a bit off while being badgered by today's sorry excuses for journalists.:( Under such assault I find it unsurprising that his mouth may have gone off before his brain was engaged.

Counter sniper teams need to be employed at large venues-especially outside events, just like they are when VIP's are present, in my view.

C'mon. That ain't gonna happen.

We had a thread running on this (as you know), and the forum owner warned everyone to stay on topic or he'd shut it down. Apparently members didn't believe him, couldn't stay on topic, and consequently the thread got locked.

Paraphrasing what I said on that other thread, there are so many reasons that's such a very bad idea

, it'd be a waste of time trying to list them all. Dangerously impractical is just one reason, but that's as far as I'll go with it.

Has anyone heard anything about the source of casualties? I.e., bullet impacts vs trauma from the stampede.

Now they have an old high school classmate of mine on the news saying he was in the room directly below the shooter. I'd imagine old Floyd's pucker factor was pretty high. He had sense to stay away from the windows though once he figured out it was gunfire from above.

It was announced on Fox Business News this morning that Congress is already working on banning the "bump-stock" and trigger aids for rapid fire. I suspect the wording of the current law will be changed to close the loop-hole rather than a new law.

with the advent of 24 hour news stations, the prospect of hearing sparse, incomplete or inaccurate information has become the norm. these guys grab any tidbit they hear because of the need to constantly be scrambling for new material. believe me, this isn't restricted to firearms. being a pilot, i notice the same hastily gathered "facts" whenever there is an air disaster.

what bothers me more about cases like this is the instant celebrity status given to the shooter. i would be surprised if someone could name even one Nobel prize winner, but mass murderers? ... sadly even i can name 3 or 4. like the Menendez brothers, you might even get your own movie. i'd be surprised if there wasn't already a Wikipedia page started on this incident.

granted it's a horrible thought, but it remains practically the only way to guarantee instant notoriety.

You apparently know nothing about Valium.

Like so many if not in all mass shootings it appears that this author was also on medical prescriptions. WND - WND - A Free Press for a Free People reports he was using Valium. In the story they also name others shooters, all of them it seems, in medication at the time of their respective criminal shootings.
Regards, Ray

I’m not exactly sure what you’re trying to say with that, but in my age group, which broadly the shooter was in also, I don’t know a single one of my gun-owning friends who isn’t a regular at the pharmacy and has his daily pills of some sort, including me.

What I´m trying to say is that mind altering drugs are an unnoticed part of the problem and one that the main stream media never refers to, preferring to lay the blame on guns.
You can easily see the in the list of shooters - all of them were in medication or suffering effects from its abstinence.
As from the Valium it was the WND who said it, no me. I´m simply relaying the info.

No point jumping on Ray. He offers no opinion on Valium, himself...he just provides a link to a rather ridiculous "news" article. He doesn't even say if he agrees or disagrees with the article's statements.

Banning the sale of trigger aids?
Paperboys and girls with ponytails will soon be marching at the Capital. FREEDOM FOR RUBBER BANDS!!!

Rubber bands are used for bump fire.

So many others affected in addition to the wounded. Fox news in Phoenix interviewed a lady who had to leave her shop inventory and even her cell phone home behind.
She was a vendor at the concert and was denied access to her stall.

It's called "preserving the crime scene". You don't process an area like that in five minutes.

Metro had the Strip in that area shut down until yesterday and there are still access restrictions on some of the side streets East of the Strip around the concert venue.

We should consider ourselves lucky to live in the US. In the UK Scenes of Crime Officers (SOCO) would be there for a week. They may not be quick, but they are extremely thorough. There would be a fingertip search of the entire area from the Mandalay Bay out to the Tropicana for starters. They would be expected to account for EVERY shot fired by locating the projectiles. Yes, I'm serious. It took them two days to process the scene of a police shooting in the Bristol area last week that involved about four rounds.

Valium is not mind-altering.......damn near like aspirin; offers a "calming" effect. Back in the 50s, expectant mothers who were going nuts were advised to wash a Valium down with a martini as they calmed their nerves with a smoke........
