I'll play my broken record.

A 3" Baby Chiefs Special that the "Men" of the 106th Precinct in Queens, NYC, gave their lieutenant for Christmas in 1953.

Another Air Force Chief friend of mine said it best: "Even if the Baby is ugly, we still love the Baby."

This little dickens climbed into my heart before I got it cleaned up, and it's simply grown on me more and more as time goes on, especially this year.

My favorite changes from time to time. Right now, it's my Star BM9, which sounds strange, since I have several more modern pistols. I got into it cheap, it was in superb condition, and shoots tight and is comfortable. It's the cheapest handgun I own which means a lot to me. I don't guess it shoots any better than most other 9mms, but is controllable.

I'm gonna have to go with Kurusu on this one. It's like saying, "Who's your favorite child?"

But, when "push comes to shove," and I can only pick one, it would have to be this Ruger Blackhawk in .45 Colt. It's not my most accurate handgun. It's not even my most favorite to shoot, but it's the one I've packed the most and the longest for over thirty years. It has gone on practically every pack trip with me back in the days when I was doing at least five big pack trips every summer plus a couple in the fall. We were in black bear country and never once did I feel under-gunned. It can handle the heavy loads without a whimper. I've loaded it with 260-grain jacketed hollow points traveling at 1450 fps and it does just fine.

So, like the old saying, "You go home with the one who brought you to the dance," this is the one who brought me to the dance, so I guess I'll stick with it.

S& W M-66-3, four-inch. Very versatile, and stainless.

Also very fond of M-60-4 and Ruger SP-101 .357 and GP-100.
Three and four-inch barrels. Favorite snub is M-60-7.

Fave autos, Colt .45, CZ-75B and Beretta 92FS.

This is really tough. I don't have many guns, and I like each of them for different reasons. Not sure I really have a favorite. And if I did, it would probably change depending on my mood and the situation.

There are a couple of guns that would be the last ones I would part with.

The first would be my Series 70 Colt Gold Cup National Match. Partly because it's just a really nice 1911, but mostly because I inherited it from my dad. For that reason I would never carry it or use it for self defense...too much sentimental value.

The other is my Beretta 92FS. It was my first handgun, purchased some 25 years ago or so. I've shot it more than any other gun I've had, somewhere in the neighborhood of 5k rounds, used it in most of the training classes I've taken, and I've always tended to shoot it better than anything else I've tried, including the aforementioned 1911. It currently serves as my home defense gun, and I do plan on eventually getting some carry gear for it.

It's easy for me , my S&W 945 . It goes with me to the range every week . After I clean it , right back in the bag it goes .

I guess my favorite is the pistol that I "carry" on me when I am out of the houses and away from my arsenal.
It is a tiny Kel-Tec .380 with the belt-clip on it.
I also carry an extra loaded magazine for it. I am also accurate with it.
It recoils when fired, and I am used to it.

My favorite right now is a 4" model 686...I don't know what dash it is...it is early and isn't marked M...
To think of this favorite thing, it is quite difficult because there are some k frame rimfires I love and a few model 10s' and an m&p from 1920 and then a few model 15s' I love to shoot so I decided if it were only one I could keep and use it for many things, it is a 4". 686...then there's some N frames...oh boy...

Yup. And thanks.

D spring made quite a noticeable improvement in the DA trigger pull. And the grips improved the feel dramatically for my small-medium hands. Had thought about getting the WC short-reach trigger, but with the LTT grips it wasn't necessary anymore. While I never had any issues with the safety, I do prefer it decock-only.

Had IWI PT night sights installed early on, but they're dead now. Can't re-lamp the front sight, so I just painted the rear sight black and the front sight fluorescent orange.

It also has the Wolff coil trigger return spring. At the time I think they called it the Border Patrol trigger return spring. I really like it.

Been thinking about swapping out the rear sight with a WC rear sight and maybe installing the WC mag guide. Not really high priorities, though. At some point I may install the latest upgraded locking block; mine is still on the original 1st gen version.

I would have to say my favorite duty gun is my Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0 loaded with 147 grain Federal HST, and my Smith and Wesson 642 loaded with 135 grain Speer Gold Dots for my back up.
