When I was a kid, growing up in the 1950's, I enjoyed a bowl of cereal and milk for breakfast.
As I grew into my teen aged years, I found sleeping late more enjoyable than breakfast, and eschewed the morning meal pretty much until after I retired about 15 years ago.
I went back to the old routine of a bowl of sweetened cereal with whole white or chocolate milk while perusing the Forum, whenever "morning" happens to arise (I love being retired!)
Anybody else do the cereal and milk thing?
John
On occasion, but not very often. I loved sugar-cereal as a kid - though what I got most of the time was "hot cereal" (oatmeal, cream of wheat, malt-o-meal, etc.).
Nowadays I have a bowl of sugar-bomb cereal once or maybe twice a month as a treat. Most of the time I choose a more protein-dense breakfast.
Eggs, cheese, meat - even peanut butter (with cheese) - all proteins that will "stick with me" longer than empty carbs (like sugar bombs).
FWIW, I still can't bring myself to eat "hot cereal". The very thought practically GAGS me....
