The Devastation of Helene in North Carolina

If you visited Germany with a group of your friends and stopped at a bier garden for a few brews, would you converse with them in English or German? Most who claim they "no habla" do indeed.

My understanding for visiting and wanting to assimilate is two different things. I know a young guy who was dating an exchange student and they were talking about him visiting her when she went home. I asked her what would be the problem if he decided to stay and not come back. Her reply was that first he would need to learn the language. Larry

Didn't FEMA have thousands of small house trailers? Sell them off or sitting somewhere? I will wait to I actually talk to some relatives N. of Asheville to hear the Real Truth.

I was being sarcastic about the conspiracy theories that WASPs would be put in FEMA camps by a prior administration, then bury the dead in FEMA coffins.
PolitiFact | Claim of FEMA 'prison camps' is part of long-running, thoroughly debunked conspiracy theory

The Mescalero tribe got several of those post-Katrina trailers.

Based on "research" by ISD Global, who is funded by Bill Gates....

And you (and I) created our posts on here using technology developed by Bill Gates...so what?

Something is either true or it isn't...do you have any information to indicate that the linked article is inaccurate?

ISD Global is not the only organization that's been warning about Russian disinformation, nor is it the only entity mentioned in the AP article. US and other intelligence agencies have been talking about this for years. Spend even a little time on social media, or the comments pages for news websites, and you can spot the posts that are clearly intended to inflame rather than inform, written by people whose first language is definitely not English.

For a little light reading on the subject, Google the phrase "Russian disinformation activities"...

Microsoft is Satan incarnate, but I'm not talking about technology... that's irrelevant.

Bill Gates has an agenda, and the well being of the American Citizen isn't part of it.

I'm not at all interested in the propaganda produced by a "think tank" funded by people like Gates or Soros, and a whole bunch of leftist European Governments.

The most damaging "Russian Propaganda" to Americans has come from the Democrat party and the American media. And Google has actively suppressed information counter to their lies... And yet you wonder why your sources have no credibility with most Americans who are politically aware.

The Russians, the Russians as you ignore the biggest threat.

As a powerful nation, you need to be able to walk and chew gum at the same time. Our pre-existing discord is encouraged and exploited by hostile foreign actors (primarily Russia because of our support for Ukraine, but also China, and Iran) just like Russia did to Georgia (Republic of), Moldova, and Hungary.

I volunteered to do election observation here in Georgia last week; the cheating was well-documented, and this in a country where you need a passport or a national voter ID card, both of which are checked against a national database, to vote. The cheating was pretty ham-handed (lots the Russians do is), and when Georgia's President (she was NOT on the ballot) called them out on it, Putin's man Dimtry Medvedev wanted her arrested. In Georgia, a sovereign nation.

"Dismiss and arrest the President of Georgia", – was the order given by the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, to the authorities of the Georgian Dream.

He responded to the statement of Salome Zurabishvili regarding the non-recognition of the elections and wrote in social media:

"The proxy President of Georgia refused to recognize the election results and went against the constitution by calling for a coup. In such cases, the standard practice is dismissal and arrest."

My strong suggestion is that one shouldn't fly to Georgia, drink some Saperavi in a sidewalk cafe, then loudly snicker about Russian election interference as if it were a hoax if one wants to keep one's natural front teeth.

The nonsense that FEMA is not doing their best in North Carolina is just more fertile ground for Russian disinformation attempts from Doppelganger, Storm-1575, Storm-1679, and other Russian troll farms.

Dismiss these attempts on our country at our common peril.

Last week at our cannon shoot talked to a guy that organized 30 trucks loaded with clothes, food, water and first aid supplies. About half towed skid steers to Banner Elk. They were told they were not needed and sent to another small town with only single lane in or out. They were sent to another small town where they unloaded and cleaned up just a few yards. He did not sound very good about the experience, didn't mention fema.

All I have heard about are private groups and organizations continuing the efforts. Good on them.
