    As long as you don't mess with the hammer spring or the strain screw you will be fine as far as reliable ignition, but lightening the rebound spring too much (either by shortening or replacing with one too light) may interfere with trigger return effectively making the gun a single shot.

    No, it wasn't. It is part of the U.S Code. Title 10, Subtitle A, Part II, Chapter 47 of the United States Code.

    I don't think it would be all that safe because the BG might grab it and load it then you have a real problem. The only way it would be safe is if the cylinder were welded shut so it couldn't be loaded. (TGS- this could also be accomplished with the 1911 by welding the slide to the frame)
