It's your gun and you have to be happy so therein lies the answer. I have a 686 that I sent back for the mod and a 586 that I have not. Both shoot anything I load...if the 586 ever showed signs of trouble (not all did) I would probably send it in but that's just me.![]()
I keep banging away with my 686 ND/NM with 125 and 158 grain factory .357 ammo, and so far, no problem. I keep it by the front door and doubt I will ever need to reload in a confrontation. If it jams in the closed position I will run for my Benelli tactical 12 ga., which is close by. After all I have put through the 686 I don't believe it going to jam any way.
